We can only wait and see. As far as I know, there has not been any official word that Les Mis will not reopen after the strike is over. It serves no purpose to speculate on this. If it happens, it happens.
I too, have tickets for that final performance (which is a matinee, not an evening performance). Yes, I am a bit concerned that I might not get to see it (I've already missed one performance because of the strike), but I can't worry about something that might not happen. I take with a grain of salt the comments elsewhere on this board that the show will close.
There are no shows saying they wont reopen after the strike, why would they say that anyway? They dont know whats gonna happen as yet so just stop speculating.
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!''
Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'
Pending on how long the strike wil last, do you think it will be extended by another month to make up for the time wasted on the strike or will Cameron Mackintosh still keep June 6th 2008 on the line?
January 6th 2008! It closes January 6th -NOT June 6th!

I must say, JUDY KUHN (I love her!) has just about the worst luck you can get..she's practically a jinx! Review:
1986 - Rags closes after two nights, she starred! 1987 - Les Miserables Original run closes at 16 years, before most of the other full-fledged productions. 1988 - Chess is conceived as a MAJOR flop. 1994 - Sunset Boulevard, although considered a success by some, fails to repay its original investments, and had fewer performances than those in London & Austrialia. 2006 - The Woman in White is doing moderately well, despite the show's star (Maria Friedman) was diagnosed with breast cancer, when on Febuary 4th it is announced that Judy Kuhn would be replacing her, begining on February 12th through the end of March. On February 12th, it was announced that Judy Kuhn will no longer fill in as the show will be closing in One Week.
Hm, 2007- Les Miserables Revival....Judy joins the cast, a strike starts (not her fault) and the show closes early! Sounds familiar!
Kec: The show IS closing early! It's closing January 6th. John Owen-Jones joined in late October and was supposed to have a six month run over here. As far as I know, Drew Sarich (who went to London) is still gonna be over there working HIS six month contract even though JOJ is ending his run prematurely over here.

I'm well aware of this. My apologies, I read the comment in the context of the OP's concern -- and other message threads offering similar comments -- that Les Mis would not re-open after the strike is done.
"I'd be happy to see John Owen Jones move right next door and take over Phantom from Howard McGillan. "
I agree! I'd love to see JOJ in Phantom! I haven't seen the show since Hugh Panaro left because I just can't stand Howard in the role. Unfortunately I think that Howard renewed his contract again through April so looks like we're stuck with him forever! Why can't he move on to another role, he's been doing Phantom for almost a decade!
