Whoa, I'm going to see it just in the nick.
This is a shame...
But maybe now Carolee can be Fantine in Les Miz...

Terrible show. It's just a shame to see the actors go, though.

Sad Day. Like I said on the other thread, I think they should have gotten the show out there more. People read the reviews, but then don't see anything else about the show. If they could see performances and stuff.

But word of mouth was terrible. People were walking out in droves at intermission. I saw it previews and I overheard several people calling it the worst show they'd ever seen and openly laughing and mocking it. Critics didn't kill this show. It was simply a bad show that the public clearly disliked, told their family and friends to avoid and so after losing millions one can't blame the producers for pulling the plug.
=( My heart goes out to the cast. You guys are amazing, I hope you all find work soon.
I'll miss it.
Wow, this really surprised me. I knew the show wasn't doing very well at the box office and the reviews were terrible, but I thought that they were gonna hold out until at least after the Tony's.
Best of luck to the cast and crew.
As I said in the other post, truly a tragedy. Best of luck to the cast, namely Allison and Carolee! Sad day.
I am so disappointed. Although I realize vampire genre shows don't last. I loved Dance of the Vampires and Dracula. I had tixs for July 15th.
Let's hope this is an opportunity to see Carolee in something worthy of her brilliance soon!
I saw it coming but it still sort of makes me sad. I've never invested in a "flop" before this... I guess every major theatre fan has their favorite flop, eh?
The cast was just so talented and worked so damn hard for such a ****ty show. I wanted it to be the "little show that could" but money matters afterall. At least they made a recording.
The show, granted, was horrendous but I can only think of Hugh, Carolee, Jim, and Allison and how damn talented they all are and how hard they worked to keep a sinking ship afloat.
The cast was truly amazing. The show kept my attention for 2 1/2 hours which is something that is not easy to do. A crying shame. Everything is closing these days. Ugh!
Not aiming to pick over the bones, but this surely enshrines the show in the same great hall as 'Carrie'!

Carrie closed RIGHT after it opened though, and was a totally different scenario if you ask me.
Poor Warner Brothers...
When i went someone reffered to The Producers. "There's no dening it's the worst show in town."
It did it's function. It made a lot of people laugh.
Do not look for Warner Brother back on Broadway anytime soon. They have learned an expensive lesson & one I do not think they will be repeating for a long time if ever
This does wonders for getting prospective deep pocketed backers to invest in Broadway shows
I don't think Lestat will be considered in the same hall as Bring Back Birdie, Carrie, etc.
Though ofcourse, it is a major flop.
This saddens me. The actors are so fantastic - I hope they find other work soon. I want to meet Jim Stanek!
Plus, the Palace is going to be dark all summer.

anyone know what i would be able to do with 2 tickets for june 8th?
i received them from someone (believe me, i did NOT pay for them) and don't know what the policy is regarding show cancellations/still-existing tickets/etc. if there is any known way to receive a refund or credit...i doubt there is, but please let me know!
thanks.
Go to the box office by Sunday
If after that, there will be a sign posted on the front doors of the theater as to how to get a refund

With the reasons you give for ths show's failure, why were you surprised that it's closing?
I ask you!

I saw this coming, I feel bad for the cast, but the book was just completely flawed, the score had some moments, but it just wasn't worthy of Broadway, this is the third time vampires have invaded Broadway, let's hope it's the last. For those who want to hear the music before the CD comes out, go straight to the Lestat Musical Forum and download it (it's not illegal, approved by the administrator). Enjoy! This is one to remember (maybe not in a good way).
