I have such a hard time believing they don't stick it out through the summer. They're probably still making money and I don't think Lempicka will move in before October or November.

getting contrasting reports. BWW has Jewelle & Tom leaving on June 4 and Lillias leaving on June 25.

 

Playbill has "White and Hewitt will remain with the production through June 4, while Blackman will now stay through June 25."

Theatermania has Jewelle leaving on June 4 with Tom & Lillias leaving on June 25.

Lillias has a show with Seth Rudetsky in LA on 3/30, so she'll definitely be out at least that date.

I don't quite understand the PR point here of announcing extensions, as if we knew when they were originally scheduled to leave, and avoiding mentioning the status of Eva/Reeve's contracts?

There were rumors that Chavkin wanted it for Lempicka after Hadestown closes. It seems like a good fit to me.

Whether it's Lempicka or not, I would stand by the idea that, whatever is taking the Kerr next, the type of show that would go to that theatre probably wouldn't open until the Fall.

I’m confused why people think Hadestown is closing. Where did this rumor start anyway?

There were rumors that Chavkin wanted it for Lempicka after Hadestown closes. It seems like a good fit to me.
 

I don't think there's any truth to those rumors. Lempicka is a much bigger show than Hadestown, both in cast and design, and Hadestown barely fits in the Kerr as it is.

Has anyone seen any scheduled understudy dates over the next few weeks? I am thinking about going again before Jewelle and Tom leave since I missed them at my first show (but their understudies were great!).

Their pejorative nickname for a popular TikTok commentator whose stage name is The Sweaty Oracle, Dollypop. They focus on the highly publicized occasions he was wrong instead of looking at the scoreboard where, even in the long run, he gets more right about Broadway gossip than not. (Kind of like Michael Riedel in that way.)

Jewelle was just on vacation for 3 weeks, so I doubt she has any scheduled absences before she leaves in June. I believe Lillias is out this weekend. Reeve is rarely out.

Thank you! Persephone is usually the role I see on the Broadway covers account but I saw Eurydice pop up the other day so I was curious. I know sometimes people put the dates they’re off on social but I don’t follow the cast so I probably would have missed the posts.

How is Lillias' voice doing?

I love her tone and all her signature runs and riffs...but there was that publicity video recording of her last year rehearsing with the cast of Chicago (maybe early in the morning?) and she sounded super strained and almost hoarse.

I hope all this constant work hasn't reduced her instrument to what I heard in that video. She's such a special performer.

Does the role allow her to do her Dreamgirls/Hercules/The Life type stuff, or is it more low-key? How is she faring?

Looks like Brit West is joining the Broadway company in some capacity. Not sure exactly what based on her Instagram story. 
 

I saw Brit on tour as Persephone and she was fantastic. I’m glad she’s continuing with the show.
