Does Hadestown no longer do in person rush?
Posted: 5/5/23 at 5:25pm
Has anyone seen this recently? Is it in good shape?

I saw it on the 21st of April, hadn’t seen it in four years and I thought it was in solid shape. It still made me cry, and I didn’t miss the original cast members nearly as much as I thought I would.

Not sure, but they still sell SRO even if the show isn't 100% soldout.

Do we know who will replace Tom and Lillias yet? Any rumours?

Isn’t it weird replacements haven’t been announced? Tom and Lillias are leaving this sunday right?

Tom is still leaving, but Lillias has extended her run, date TBD.
Either they couldn’t find someone in time, or they have someone in mind that couldn’t jump in right away? This production continues to have weird issues with replacements, etc. or at least communicating them. She was supposed to leave in two days and just now they’re announcing a vague extension.

I wonder if Jewelle's replacement will be Lana Gordon?

I wonder if the vague extension means there will be a closing announcement soon and Lillias is staying until then? I could see them winding this show down at the end of summer/early fall.

I think it keeps going until the end of the year. It's unfathomable that they (again) are having difficulty finding a Hermes replacement.

Y’all think Hadestown is closing because someone on YouTube or TikTok posted a rumor he made up? Must be so gullible and believe everything you hear on the internet. Hadestown is still profiting from ticket sales and seating 90-100% capacity each week.

I have no idea what YouTube or TikTok rumor you're referring to. My speculation was based on the fact that its grosses have been modest for awhile now, it's been running for a long time and many modest performing shows tend to close early fall or January. Looking at capacity is a fool's errand and it's probably hovering right on the edge of profitability which may not be the case when there's declines for almost every show in the fall...

I wonder if Eddie Noel Rodriguez from the tour will be the new Hades. He was a Worker who covered Hades/Hermes. Then he left his role as Worker but stayed with the tour a while to cover the principals. And even when the tour cast was really short on cast members (one day they went on with only 4 Workers), he didn't go on as Worker even though he was still there. I thought maybe they were gearing up for a Hermes or Hades tour cast change, but maybe he's joining the Broadway cast

Any idea who the new Hades is starting tomorrow? Tom was scheduled to leave yesterday unless he's extended along with Lillias? The show's website and Playbill still have Tom listed.

IDK, adding 3+ months to your contract to go to closing seems like a long to me. If she was originally leaving in August and announced she was staying through Labor Day, that would be different.

No idea who's on as Hades tonight, but Malcolm Armwood just posted he'll be Hermes tonight, Weds evening, Saturday both shows, and Sunday, with the possibility that he might be on all week. So Lillias extended but is out this week.

I'm guessing he's leaving when Jewelle leaves on June 25 now.

Gosh why is their casting stuff always so strange?

Anyone know if Reeve, Eva or Lillias will be playing this saturday evening?
Posted: 6/21/23 at 7:01pm
And still no word on who is replacing Jewelle and Tom starting next week?
Posted: 6/22/23 at 2:37pm
Blackman and Hewitt have extended their runs through September 3.

I'll guess and say that's probably how long Lillias will be with the show, too. I hope they're not having issues finding replacements for those three leads.
