Damn. We missed one another by 2 days. I was at The Academy Museum on Wednesday night, for the "Hello, Dolly!" screening. Sounds like it was a wonderful evening. My plans last night were set in stone and I couldn't change them. Otherwise, I would have gone. Absolutely!
No, I'll be going solo. I can walk to The Million Dollar Theatre from my office. Once it's over, I'll walk back, and drive home.

Why would it be cancelled?"
Health reasons? Low ticket sales?
I don't know. I just wanted some reassurance before I even considered making the journey. She's burned me in the past.
"How has Liza burned you in the past? What happened between the two of you?
"
Twice I’ve arranged expensive transatlantic trips to see her, and twice the event has been cancelled. I'm over it, don't worry, but fool me once, etc.

Considering her incoherant post above, I don't think you needed to giver her an explanation when it was perfectly clear you meant Liza had cancelled before.

This is poetry. Thinking of adding it to my signature.

I was there for Dolly as well. Loved seeing it on that huge screen.

So close, yet so far. Sorry we missed one another. It would have been so nice to have finally met in person. Where were you sitting? I was in the front center section, right on the aisle, in the last row.

We were very close to one another. Seeing HD on the big screen is always such a thrill.

Liza Minnelli’s first memoir tells the untold story of my dear friend’s legendary life

Liza Minnelli will be live in NYC with Michael Feinstein at The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center, on March 23 at 7:30pm: Link
Tickets are about $66 with tax, come with a signed book, and are general admission. It's also the exact same price to watch it online and get a signed book. It's $150 for a reserved section ticket.
Not cheap, but definitely cheap compared to the LA appearance.

NYC. Will tickets sell out fast? How long do I have to make up my mind?
What's the difference between reserved seating and general admission - which is closer?
I'd given up on ever seeing Liza in the flesh, but I think I'm in this time.

I think we can safely assume the reserved seats are the closer and better ones.
I think the price is very fair. So excited!

Will the signed book be autopen? Or Michael Feinstein?

They wanted to give Lorna something to do.

The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center main sanctuary is cavernous and seats 2,500 people. It's not clear from the ticket if it will be held there, or a smaller room which would fit about 600 people.

Thank you. Maybe ticket sales determine which will be used?

Got my ticket. A shame I have no idea if my seat is good or not, or even which of the two venues it'll be in. The reserved section should be good no matter where I am… right?
I still have a sinking feeling it's not gonna happen, so I won't let myself get too excited.

It will happen. Liza is not a flake . Maybe you had bad luck., but it is not normally the case with her. Plus she is doing the tv morning show rounds at the time . Would love to see her on Watch What Happens Live. But please put Feinstein behind the bar .. in a mute appearance. 🤞

It's not that I think she's a flake. Just an 80 year old woman in fragile health.I’m a pessimist who's afraid of being disappointed, that's all. I hope I’m wrong!

This is Liza about 9 months ago. She’s still all there just physically limited, that’s all. Here’s hoping she does these upcoming talks sitting like this. She looks quite comfortable.
