Liza/Michael says it was Gaga who insisted she be put in a wheelchair for Oscars 2022. She also feels Gaga's "I got you” comment was performative for the cameras. I'm shocked!
Is this old news or a new revelation…?

Liza was very unhappy after this. Pretty hard on Gaga, in my opinion.

Huh? Here’s Michael himself talking about that Oscar moment AND Lady Gaga had zero to do with the wheelchair.

I thought it was a lovely moment, and that both of them came off well. It was endearing.
Highlight of the ceremony, overshadowed only by Will Smith.

I wish this wasn't published in the book. Liza herself (who learned from the very best) is a master of performative moments and we love her for it. I think the statement about Gaga is harsh and lacks class.
But it's hard for me not to imagine she has a voice in her ear telling her what to think and feel...and who knows who actually wrote what is in this "memoir."

Who knows what was taken from private chatter over the years and used as content.

I just think it's a bummer because I have a very fond memory of seeing Liza jump up and down for joy at Madison Square Garden when Gaga called out to her during The Monster Ball. Gaga went on to say some very lovely things to and about Liza at the piano. You can see it in the HBO recording as it was taped that night. To now have this be printed in her book as part of her legacy and relationship to Gaga is very sad. To me, Gaga is next in line in the Judy, Barbra, Liza lineup of legends.

Agreed. I don't doubt Gaga's genuine respect for elder legacy artists. Her work with Tony Bennett is surely testament to that.
This story was surely included to generate publicity and sales.

Also, if you go and actually watch the clip from the Oscars that night, Liza seemed like she was hanging on by a thread.

Been reading some advance excerpts from her memoir and happy to report, she’s going all out. She even mentions what drugs were her choice at certain periods in her life. Now I’m excited for the audiobook, which she narrates it herself. If anything, we have to thank Feinstein for this as she apparently gave him the thumbs up to write one after she passes.

She hasn't passed yet though…?

That’s my point - he convinced her to write one herself while she’s still around. She initially wasn’t interested and just told Feinstein he could write one after she passes since she’s told him everything.

The chat night is still not selling very well in Los Angeles.

She did Gaga dirty here. Not nice at all.

It's kinda reassuring that Liza herself is narrating the audiobook. I can believe it more now. Perhaps I'm too harsh on Feinstein.
(Unless it's AI Liza or something… no, no.. that couldn't happen… could it?)

Thank you! I seem to constantly be under-estimating her, now I feel bad.

A staged photo with her apparently signing an autograph on a blank page doesn’t exactly fill one with confidence.

You think eventually they will sell some discounted seats? It will be heartbreaking for her to step out to a empty theater.

Sure they would not cancel it first?

Every seat in her sight line is sold so as long as they keep the house lights low, she won’t see the empty seats.

That theater gets a catacomb feel when it’s that empty. Not what she deserves.

Her IG account posted a preview of the audiobook which is out today - it definitely sounds like her voice. If they did use the AI software, it has excellent results.
