That is not what she sounds like as of current. Go watch her on Drag Race from last year. Her diction is not that good anymore. There's a reason why her words are rarely connected by video as of recent. Either written statements or audio only (as with this audiobook) so they can just make her voice say what they want her as if it was a decade ago. Which I feel is fair if she is aware of it, but given her statement prior (if that was even her actual statement) she has not consented to recreating her voice. This is an 18 hour audio book, it would have been a bitch to record for her.
Apparently there's a story about the Oscars and Gaga forcing her into the wheelchair which she insists she didn't need, but again going back to Drag Race last summer... she cannot walk unsupported (if at all) and I doubt she was much better at the Oscars a few years prior. I will say that Drag Race treated her much better with her appearance giving her a large throne. I have to wonder if the issue at the Oscars didn't reveal itself until she was actually on site for the broadcast and couldn't be planned for something with more reverence to her.

Dame said, "You think eventually they will sell some discounted seats? It will be heartbreaking for her to step out to a empty theater"
I have a ticket and am looking forward to it; however, I will not be surprised if it is canceled. It simply is not selling, as Dame pointed out.
They will have to discount, paper, or cancel.

Is the NYC one in danger of being cancelled due to low ticket sales? ☹️
I knew this might happen, so I only have myself to blame if it does.

She will not cancel . There is no reason to believe anything will be canceled.

She notoriously cancelled appearances even when she was healthier. I thought this may get cancelled even if it sold well. If she doesn’t feel up to it, it’s not happening.
I also have a sneaking suspicion her signed books will be autopen. I’ll check the autograph message boards after they are released.

Notoriously? Never.

I’ve seen Liza perform four times and she’s never canceled.

This is my third time planning a trip to see Liza. The previous two never happened. I spent a fortune, all the way to Europe, but whatever. This time I knowingly took the risk.
Paris 2014. London Palladium 2015.

I’ve been lucky, I guess. Never got a chance to see her in CHICAGO but she was on when I saw LIZA! at the Winter Garden in 1974, in THE ACT, THE RINK, and her run in VICTOR/VICTORIA along with her run at Radio City as well as more than a handful of her touring concerts. Yes, her concerts never started on time but she did go on.

But really seemingly no one in her generation of artists started on time

Liza is in great spirits in this video for the People cover story. Nice to see her silly side again - her goofy face is just like Judy’s.

Since inking the ElevenLabs deal, they have posted five videos with AI voiceovers.

Transport Group just announced their big concert this year is going to be a tribute to Liza - Liza! at 80. I loved the Follies and Dolly productions over the last 2 years, so I'll definitely be trying for tickets for this one.
Interestingly, the website says that everyone will receive an autographed copy of the book, which I'm sure will bump the prices up even more.

Oh good, when people forget their lyrics or fumble with their scripts, it will in keeping with the theme! Looking at you Santino…

Is the audio book actually Liza or not? ☹️

Here are almost 5 minutes of her audiobook. Based on her shaky speaking voice today, this is definitely Ai generated. The awkward spacing between sentences is the dead giveaway. In all fairness, it’s an unabridged audiobook so it’s tolerable and it IS in her voice, just an Ai version.

It's just kind of crazy for them to just a few weeks ago put out "Her" statement that she'd never allow her voice to be generated by AI knowing this was down the pipeline just a few weeks later where you'd be listening to her AI voice for 18 hours.

Why that staged photo of the recording then? They are literally conning us. If it's AI, at least tell us it's AI.
All the signed books will be auto-pen, I suppose?
How much involvement in this whole project did Liza even have?

Many people use ChatGPT or image generators or the like in their day-to-day lives for fun, but when they're being asked to spend money on something that has been AI-generated, particularly something creative, the sentiment shifts.

Can we wait for confirmation of AI or autopen before freaking out?
The signed copy I preordered comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Fine. Deep breath.
Where are we likely to get confirmation?

Is such a certificate worth anything? I have trouble believing that Liza, at her age, could sign all these books. It's a lot even for someone in better condition. And she always signs her autographs the same way (I got one back in the 80's): her name with a smiley face. So it would be easy to program. If it's clearly not her own natural voice readings on the audiobook, it's likely not her handwritten scrawl on all these copies of the book.

Uhh, well, to lie about that would be an act of fraud, so.
