Okay, I hadn't realized that Kevin Kern wasn't going on as Grandpa anymore when covering Peter's track. Apparently, they realized how ridiculous he looked (although I always enjoyed it) so they figured it was better to have Rosie deliver the anniversary poem to the audience instead. Aw.
I don't know, I found it kind of lacking without him. Even though he comes out of nowhere, I think it's sweeter with her reciting the poem to him instead of to no one. The audience tonight was awesome (despite being tiny) but they had zero reaction to that part.
However, I do recognize the ridiculousness of trying to disguise Kevin Kern's hotness by making him a grandpa. It just seems wrong. Screamingly funny, but wrong.
I miss the show too I need to go back and stagedoor soon because Tina wasn't there this weekend BOO and we have a gift for her. Haha we originally gave it to Christina to bring back but then my sister decided it would be better to give it to her herself so she asked for it back. It will be totally better to see Tina's reaction to it in person because it's excellent.
Kevin Kern is my hero and I actually like it better that he doesn't go on for the Grandpa because then it ruins it when the people who know that it's him, yes I am one of them, crack up and ruin the moment. And I also noticed that Amy hadn't been crying during that part in the show anymore this weekend, don't know if that has anything to do with not having the Grandpa onstage *shrugs* just something I observed. Haha but when I saw him go on as the Ricky and he sang the Jehri curl line, that made me lose it totally. Nothing beats that.
froggy: How was Cara's replacement??? I'm gonna have such a hardtime going back. I doubt I'm going to be able to watch the track at all, especially Donatella It's just not going to be the same without her. I found myself thinking last night about how she should be backstage at WS and not sitting in her new place in Philly last night, it was depressing really. But she started rehearsals yesterday and says that she's loving it already so you can't really help but be happy for her.
Just out of curiosity, has Rita Gardner missed any performances yet? It is amazing she can still do eight shows a week in a musical at her age...I'm impressed!
I think that Rita has missed two shows (because Christiana has gone on as Rosie) but they were previously announced, not just a random day that she called out.
It is really impressive with all the illness and injury that has gone around that cast that Rita, the oldest member, has been the luckiest in terms of health
yea, rita missed a couple shows but it was recent. it was DEFF a well deserved vacation!!
and yea, i actually did look for tina but i didnt see her. so she wasnt there at all? thats interesting, lol.
i wish i could stage door more! i mean the 4 times that i did, i LOVED it!!!!!! i didnt want to leave!! except for the fact that everyone else was gone, lol. but i just LOVED seeing the cast! they are all amazing! and i deff wouldnt mind seeing them all the time, lol.
so bwaydreamer: how often do u go to the show? i mean you were there 3 times this weekend i think, lol. ur there pretty frequently im assuming.
Rita was out for 3 days I think, and Christina went on as Rosie.

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

Rita was out a couple times in Seattle I know. Don't know whether that was planned or what. Christina went on then too, she was first understudy for her in Seattle and when they moved to Broadway she got bumped down to second understudy. Yeah Rita's really good for her age, it's amazing really.
Tchi: Over the summer I went to the show basically once every week in August, every couple of weeks before that, occasionally more than one time in a week. Once school started again I had narrowed it down to like twice a month but then I found out Cara was leaving so I started going more again. Yeah this past weekend was the most I've ever gone grouped together like that, just because it was her last weekend. I'm not planning on going to see the show again until Thanksgiving now if it's still open and then after that winter break if it's still open. The show is basically my escape from reality and it saves me from my life which lately I've really been needing to do so yeah. I know it sounds crazy the most I've been to the show is 5 times in one week: I went the Wednesday after Tina's birthday (Tuesday), that Saturday, 2 performances that Sunday, and then the following Wednesday for my birthday. But it really is so much more than just a show for me. I know I'm lucky that I get to go that much and the last thing I want is act all selfish and all "Ohhhhh look at me I can go whenever I want" because it's really not like that. And it takes a lot of effort and fighting with my parents to let me go that much but in the end I do win because my parents think they can control my every move and I'm 20 years old so it's ridiculous. I don't have unlimited money either and I only work in the summers so I need to slow it down a lot now because the bank account is starting to get kinda low from this summer's frequent trips. I just have such a deep attachment to this show it's kinda ridiculous and I need to stop and now I'm going to, honestly...yes partly because of Cara but I really need to go back to normal life and really focus on school now. It was fun while it lasted but all good things must come to an end. Of course I'll be there if and when they close though.

AHH! SEEING WEDDING SINGER AGAIN NEXT WEDNESDAY!!! *dies* It was a surprise. My dad came home and he's like: "I got tickets for The Wedding Singer." and I'm like screaming. That's pretty much it...
btw: yeah, it's a wednesday and I snuck online for a seccond. i'm a bad person.
froggy: That's interesting...hmmmmm I actually like Joanne though and wish that they had just replaced Cara with her and brought in a new swing. I mean sure nobody's Cara but I have seen Joanne so many times and she's been on so much she really made the role her own and I liked it. I guess they're kinda slow around updating the callboard, lolz. Or else they're all in denial that she's gone...
Tchi: Ok good 'cause I'd feel really bad and I don't want to show off...*breaks out into Drowsy Chaperone*, ok I'm done, haha.
And I completely agree with what everyone's saying about rules. Rules are definitely meant to be broken, especially when they're ridiculous and stupid way too strict. K? Thanks, bye. And now I have to go pretend I actually do work and study for my stupid midterm and write a stupid paper...neither of which I even care about how I do, which is the sad part.
Wow, so Katherine Hepburn's the one that said that quote? I definitely made my friend a pillow last year with pictures of us and that quote on it. LOVE that one, and it's so true.

Thank you! That's really sweet.
I used to go once every week or two, and now I haven't gone since August.
I kind of wish they were still letting Kevin go on as Grandpa. That had to be adorable.
