Also, I found this list of folks who took part in a reading last year: Matt Doyle, Derek Klena, Cheyenne Jackson, John Behlmann, Dyllón Burnside, Heath Calvert, and Nick Rashad Burroughs, along with standout actress Ana Villafañe. That's a talented (and pretty!) group! Side note: Love John Behlmann in Tootsie. He and Sarah Stiles were my favorite parts of the show.

^ Good choice. Matt Doyle is perfect for this how could I forget him! I can see him doing this, although isn't he doing that Huey Lewis musical now?

Workshop was postponed. Not sure what this means for the shows future, but does anyone want this anyway?

"The creative team was previously announced to include Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey writing the score, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa writing the book. Trip Cullman, who was previously announced as the director, remains involved with the production."

I don't know how any show could replace the songwriters and bookwriter 5 months before an out-of-town opening. But if Kitt & Yorkey were staying on, I feel like that would have been specified (like Cullman)?

The cast will play a large role for sure, but they need material to act and sing, so it absolutely matters.

I think the next announcement will be a cancellation of the Boston run - I just don't see how they can get their act together by November.

I'm not so sure. I doubt many Chippendales performers are considered "actors" or "singers"; they're hired for the size of their pecs, and isn't that what people will really be coming to see? If the guys never stripped, how much audience do you think they'd get?

My money's on the latter. I can't tell you anything about the plot to the film; I just remember Joe Manganiello and a water bottle.

So does that mean the 3 authors are in or out?

The Full Monty ran two years on Broadway with a middling score and under 10 minutes of stripping. However that show had a bang up original cast, a funny book and some stakes. These guys had been laid off and were at the end of their ropes.

The plot described for the Magic Mike musical is a film prequel about a kid out of college looking for his first job. Not so high stakes. They're sure to have fitter guys and more stripping than Monty but they may not get a two year run out of it. Particularly if they're already having creative troubles.

My friend said most seats at the Vegas Magic Mike are under $100 except front row is like $150. She also said hotels give away a limited number of seats for $35 every show.
