JC-
I would feel the exact same way if they said Sister Act blows.
It's unprofessional, uncalled for and unneccessary. Everyone knows Spider-Man is getting trashed from here to eternity. Why do it? When Big Ben Brantley spends an entire season trashing the same show over and over again each time he reviews a show, it boils my blood. This season, I am sure it will be Spidey. He will reference it every time he reviews a Broadway musical. Just don't understand the purpose.
Boo-
You are totally over reacting.
They didn't hold a press conference to bash Spider-Man. They just mentioned it when asked.
Relax.
Boo works for Spiderman's marketing team, it's his/her job to overreact to these types of things.
"I would feel the exact same way if they said Sister Act blows."
Do you work for that show as well?
"Everyone knows Spider-Man is getting trashed from here to eternity. Why do it?"
Because the show is awful and a waste of everyones time, both cast/crew and audience.

When I was a kid, I used to ask my Hebrew school teachers why they kept talking about the Holocaust over and over and over again. Their answer: "So it doesn't happen again".
OH MY GOD. SOMEONE IN THE INDUSTRY EXPRESSED A NEGATIVE OPINION OF A SHOW WHEN ASKED ABOUT IT.
SOMEONE CALL THE THEATRE POLICE.

I guess I remember the good ol' days, when people had respect for other's art. Call me whacky, I guess. The majority opinion seems to be that they did nothing wrong. I just disagree.
By the way, they are not the first "artists" to bash SM. The imbecile who plaays Lombardi, Dan Lauria, was trashing the show,as was Colin Quinn. When someone is nominated for an award, they don't trash their fellow nominees. It is clear that they have an agenda. When people like Adam Pascal or Alice Ripley do it, it is less offensive to me since they are not involved in any way.

How the hell old are you? This ain't new, sweetie. When pieces of shlt like Spiderturd are wasting the space of a theater and boring countless people with their nightly live rehearsals, they open themselves up to it. Now shoo. Go away.

Old enough to remember proper behavior, I guess.
JC- I bet you a buck that Spidey runs longer than Mormon.
Whatever you say Julie.
Proper behavior?!
You are calling EVERYONE names!
That's really mature.
Unlike you, I don't have a stake in how long either of those shows run, sooooooooo...I don't care? Let Spiderhole run for twenty years. It still won't turn a profit an will always be a joke, but if people want to see it, thyme see it.

Yeah- Whatever. I will go back to ignoring you again.
Ever think the interviewer asked them about Spidey? They're not the "next question" sort.
"Yeah- Whatever. I will go back to ignoring you again."
Oooh, BURN!
Let's see how long that 1 pans out.
Everyone's reaction to this piece is crazy. Gain some perspective. Matt and Trey are wealthy and powerful enough to say whatever they please and don't need to "build bridges" to get their work out there.
People always like to invent this time when no one in the arts ever said anything negative about anyone else's work. It didn't exist.
Artists SHOULD be allowed to have critical opinions of art.
Anyone should be able to have an opinion on a show and say it without it being unprofessional. I considered including STOTD in my May trip but refuse now out of principal. Those fools who are running that show are relying on the negative press to keep this show afloat and therefore I won't play are part in keeping it afloat. I'd be surprise if it last 12 months after the official opening.

They certainly don't need to bad mouth Spiderman ahead of the awards season because well, a) it's a pile of crap and b)Julie says it's not a musical so Trey & Matt wouldn't be competing with her anyway! lol. They're as intitled to their opinion as we all are. I just don't think anyone can be surprised that the people who have already offended half of Hollywood would be worry about burning bridges. Besides they were just asked what they think, most of us would have said the same thing.
"No. It did not deserve that win. The best musical of that year and of the decade was CAROLINE, OR CHANGE. That damn puppet show is so inferior to it that having them even mentioned in the same sentence is offensive to me."
Thank you,Jordan. And let's not even go into what they did to win.
It's unprofessional, uncalled for and unneccessary.
Ug, people...THIS IS WHAT THEY DO! No one is safe from their comments. They're happy if you're crying over this.

i remember how they even offended their own voice actor on South Park that he quit!!!! fyi it was Isaac Hayes aka the Chef who didn't like their humor towards scientology... he quit and they let it be...

They didn't just let it be, they made a whole other episode mocking Scientology and the strange grip it has over its members, completely destroying the character of Chef in the process.
To quote Matt Stone and Trey Parker in everything they've ever done "if you get offended, the jokes on you".
Bileyboo, what's it like being aboard 2011's Titanic (the ship not the movie), just keep blowing that whistle once it goes under, OK?
