I don't find this awesome. I find it stupid.
We're all welcome to our opinion, but two guys who have JUST started previews for their first Broadway outing ever should not be throwing stones from their glass house.
Read the clip. They realize they are open to the same criticism.

Realizing that or not, it's still a very stupid move on two Broadway newbie's parts. Nothing like burning bridges.

It's Trey Parker & Matt Stone. You can't really expect them to behave themselves and keep their views to themselves do you? They know fine well that people are lining up to rip them to shreds too. It's probably one of the least controversial things they've ever said lol. Personally I glad someone's just said it out loud!
It's perfectly consonant with who they are and what they do. And admit it - they're super-famous and super-rich. Any project they want to do, they'll get to do. They don't need to worry about any bridges.
As much as you may dislike it, you must admit that they're known for mocking public figures, and are enormously popular for doing so.

didnt they right a Puppet show that should NEVER
have won best musical...that gives them cred baby

The only puppet show I'm aware of them writing was Team America, and that did not win any sort of award for Best Musical.

Right...write....that was Bobby Lopez and "Avenue Q" so deserved the Tony over "Wicked."
Where's remedial English when you need it?
lol. Their show was set by the final dress rehearsal and spider-man is still a mess...as far as I'm concerned they can throw as many stones as they wish.
They only said it to drum up attention for their own show, 'celebs' know comments about Spider Man will get them publicity, it's kinda sad and despearate really.
The comment from the TOTD oeople seem to know thats the case as well '“Everyone at Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark is, as always, flattered by the attention.”'

Parker and Stone have pretty much made a career from burning bridges. It's what they do. Pretty silly to think they give a crap at all.
Can not wait to see BoM. Going next Friday. I just hope they have all the technical problems fixed by then . . . oh wait, wrong show.

What does TOFTD stand for? I thought Turn Off The Dark was TOTD.
"Glass Houses"?
Matt and Trey have a script that is finished and the show is ready to be seen by an audience. From all accounts the show is funny and well done.
I think someones house is made from more than glass.
"didnt they right a Puppet show that should NEVER

Do your research bryan. Lopez wrote it, and he's not the 1 making the comments.
I think it's refreshing that they're so honest. Better than the typical celebrity passive aggressiveness.
Oh, my pearls! Oh, the provocation! Oh! Oh! Oh!
"Right...write....that was Bobby Lopez and "Avenue Q" so deserved the Tony over "Wicked."
No. It did not deserve that win. The best musical of that year and of the decade was CAROLINE, OR CHANGE. That damn puppet show is so inferior to it that having them even mentioned in the same sentence is offensive to me.

I never saw "Caroline" outside of what they showed in the "Show Business" documentary so I don't have a point of reference. Of the shows I saw that were nominated, "Q" was my favorite.
It's one of the disadvantages of living outside the city. You can't see everything you want to.

I guess Mormon isn't good enough to stand on it's own merits.
They need to act like like whiny spoiled brats desperate for attention. They will get plenty of attention if their show is any good. Seems to me they are suffering from a lack of confidence. A bit ironic that THEIR first preview had a fairly sizable glitch as well.
Oh get the **** over it. You people are acting like they bashed the current production of Angels in America or something.

ooops i changed the subject.. haha.. as i was saying turn off the dark in my head as i was typing the acronym.. i half spelled Off hence the F.. haha
Considering what the critics and others have said, these remarks are rather tame and hardly "bridge-burning" (what bridges on Broadway do they have to burn?)

It astounds me how seriously people are taking this.
Just people like Bailey who work for the show.

Iluvtheatertrash, perhaps you just aren't aware of who they are or what they do. Please consider who we are dealing with before climbing up onto that high horse of yours.
