Too late. They're already "turned"!
We can only hope!

I might be misreading what you linked to, but nowhere in the article does it mention "Christian Government", nor is the word Christian even mentioned or referred . It refers to the conservative media which is falling in line with the 'illiberal state', but nothing at all about Christianity or any other religion.
It also points out that the article, which claimed the show could 'make children gay' in the newspaper Magyar Id?k , was written by columnist Zsófia N Horváth. It doesn't say that anyone else shared this belief, nor would the writer comment on her published opinion - and never revealed her religion. Again, no ties at all to Christianity.
What is the Christian government? Is it describing a government full of Christian's or some place called "christian" and their government? This whole title is very misleading?

It doesn’t. But that’s never stopped him from making things up in the past.

Apologies, I have corrected the thread title to say "Media close to Christian government", as claimed by The Guardian Article*
* While the article doesn't explicitly use the word "Christian", make no mistake - the Viktor Orbán government is a right-wing Christian government and the PM said his duty is to protect Hungary's "Christian Culture". You can search this on google if you need to learn more. Don't be so naive to think these kinds of attitudes and ideas around LGBT people appear out of no where.
Anyone have more insight into this quote from the article:
"He also noted that the only gay character from the original script was not included in the Hungarian production."

Maybe Michael, Billy’s friend who cross dresses.
^Yes I figured that, but how was he allowed to be cut out? I mean I guess he isn't that integral to the plot, but still surprised to see this was allowed.

FWIW, the Hungarian State Opera is set to make its US debut later this year at Lincoln Center. It will be performing the Janos Vajda opera "Mario and the Magician." The opera is, of course, based on Thomas Mann's great 1929 anti-fascism novella. Sounds like this is an opera company trying to fight the good fight.
I’m trying to understand. This shows already ran since 2016 and is just cancelling some final performances or what?
^Did you even read the article?
With all due respect, qlobinau, I'm not getting the connection between Christianity (or any specific religion) and the show closing. None at all.
The PM has a very conservative agenda (understood), but nowhere in this article does it say the reason for the closure is based on any particular religious belief. It could be more of a cultural reasoning - but it's not clear. And again, the quote about children turning gay is the writer's own opinion - hers, and hers alone.

I have tickets to the Hungary production of La Cage Aux Folles in late September. What are the odds that it’s still a go?
