Totally agreed. I think this is going to be a smash and totally will reverse vampire sentiments on a way and become THE vampire musical of a generation. It’s expensive alright but think it has a shot at being a long-runner.
I think (barring any extraordinarily baked-in technical needs and stunts a la Back to the Future), this is part of the somewhat bonkers current theatrical licensing model: your Broadway run is never LIKELY to make you money, but is required as a very expensive advertisement for your show in touring and licensing. Nobody can gamble on their show being the next long-runner anymore, because those are so rare. It's all about the exposure and the legitimacy of a major stage production, to make people think your show is worth licensing over the next twenty years or so.
Presale live right now using code BELONG.

SiriusXM just played a song - without the title - on the Broadway Buzz.  It is hard to tell the context - it was a pretty hard rock song.  I think it was about telling someone to let them in and to join them.  Out of context it wasn't a bad song.  It didn't really grab me.
The song is to be released broadly tomorrow but Sirius has it now

That song “Have to Have You, wasn’t awful. But I’m not sure why the guitar solo was there. Also it just kinda ended. Of course this is all taken out of context. I just hope during the guitar bit it’s not a dance break!
They are starting really early with tickets, releasing songs, the cast reveal, merch, etc. I think it's a great idea, and with the excellent producing team behind it, I think this could be fantastic.

The key art and marketing imagery is also very cool.

Everything looks nice and very expensive about this musical, except the actual music I've heard so far.

This is going to do very well. The score is absolutely fantastic; these guys wrote a truly exceptional score. Certain elements of the story appeal to adults, other elements appeal to teenagers, and other elements appeal to the younger crowd.

Besides you who is on this excellent producing team? You seem to be posting a lot about it with the same adoration and seemingly different screen names?

I know there's a lot of younger first time co-producers on this one. Maybe that explains the upticks in shill accounts recently?

Certain elements of your post will appeal to people who don't realize you joined two weeks ago. Other elements of your post will appeal to people who don't think you are the show publicist and other elements will appeal to younger people who don't think you are the show producer.

Historically it's been the older co-producer types who gravitate to this board. The younger ones tend to be more drawn to socials (which is probably a better use of their time).
Given that the three lead producers have produced a cumulative zero Broadway shows, and none of the authors have written for the stage before, it's unlikely that this will be a normal process. That doesn't mean it's destined to fail. But this could not have bigger underdog status, given the size of its theatre and relative obscurity of the source material.
Releasing some music in advance is kind of the bare minimum that a new musical can do, and it neither helps nor hurts to announce the show a year in advance (GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER and Rudin's CAROUSEL also did that) and to put some merch on sale.
I wish them well.
Also...I just noticed Michael Arden is credited as co-lighting designer on this one?
This feels like Stranger Things 2.0 without the brand recency. The key art and grainy VHS look ...

If Back to the Future, which is a much bigger 1980s IP, struggled on Broadway (after the initial rush). Then lost boys is going to need to be really good and have excellent word of mouth .

$25 million is a huge amount for any producer to raise. I wonder how far along they are.

Unless it’s a huge boardwalk, home and cave set I dont picture this being huge unless they have a carousel to open the show with like the movie and the flying.
There are two aerial designers on the show. It’s not going to be small and 25 million is likely low for what it will be.

Don't know how far they are from goal but I know they're still actively raising. (The idea that they're still raising is not a red flag tho -- almost every musical is still raising at this stage of its lifecycle -- but if they still have, say, $10mil to go, that would be concerning.)

I attended a panel they had yesterday at New York Comic Con. Zachary Quinto was there to moderate the discussion, which included Patrick Wilson, Michael Arden, LJ Benet, Ali Louis Bourzgui, and Maria Wirries. A few notes/takeaways:
They gave everyone a window card on the way out, which was nice! I would've thought the Stranger Things panel earlier in the weekend would've handed something out as well, but I digress. All in all, I'm looking forward to visiting the Palace for this next spring.
