As a rule, ticketing agent would never confirm/guarantee a certain actor to be in a particular performance.

"Clearly Margo is wealthy enough to live in NYC and can afford to see any show she likes.  Some people are not as privileged as you."

Nothing is clear about your bulls*it statement. You know zero about me. Don't assume things, you look like an idiot.  None of those things are true.

I adored Micheal when I saw him as Jared, he is angrier, louder, and more intense.  Love him.  Glad he is impressing with Evan.

Does anyone know who played him tonight?

It was Colton Ryan.

I've heard the boot. He does a great job, but has tuning issues on the top notes (so does Colton)... oh well. Most of it sounded great though, and he has a GORGEOUS natural vibrato.

Just bought DEH tickets, and was really looking forward to seeing Ben play Evan before he leaves the show in November.  I researched a bit before to confirm that he was still performing in almost every show before buying tickets to next Saturday's matinee... only for an article to be posted less than an hour after I bought the tickets announcing that Michael Lee Brown would be stepping in for Ben for Saturday/Wednesday afternoon shows!

Can't believe my luck. Is it worth trying to get tickets to another show for Ben's performance?

I've only seen MLB, and I can say he won't disappoint. I'd been following the show and looking forward to seeing Ben, watched plenty of his television appearances performing the songs and listened to the album A Lot and I didn't feel let down a all when I actually got in there and saw MLB's performance as Evan! He does a great job. I will say I do still think about trying to see Ben, but admittedly I can recognize it's just so that I can say I did lol. MLB puts on a good show, and without a Ben performance to compare it to, I don't feel let down, even having paid resale prices for an assumed Ben night.

Not sure if I'm being helpful at all but I will share our experience. =)

About 5 months ago I bought tickets for the Aug 30th Matinee. I also purchased Come from Away tix and had previously purchased Hamilton tickets (10mos ago). All direct from the theater. We were flying across the country and planning this trip for nearly a year. So to say that seeing BP was important to my teen musical theater buff daughter is an understatement.

When we arrived in town we found out BP was on vocal rest. But after the initial heartbreak, my daughter having been an u/s herself before was still looking forward to seeing the show knowing that the u/s can bring a new energy. When we arrived we found out Rachel was out as well - and - well that was the last straw LOL. So thankfully they allowed me to refund my tickets and I purchased tickets to the Matinee on our last day in town. BP was supposed to be back. But then of course that was the day they announced MLB was doing matinees. Well.... since the new tickets I had purchased I did from stub hub - we didn't have a choice but to go see it. It was a little hard to get over not seeing Ben - but MLB was absolutely amazing and since I had only seen BP Tony performance I only had to resist the urge to compare during that part of the show. It was an emotional and wonderful experience. The show on its own is absolutely amazing and worth seeing.

But of course - I could feel my daughters heart breaking through "Waving through a Window". Tears ran down her face and I knew she'd probably never forget that she didn't see BP. So I'm thinking - I've already spent a fortune on this trip - to leave having not seen BP would seem a bit of a waste. So... off to stub hub we went and I watched until the prices fell and I bought her  a SINGLE ticket to the show so she could see BP that night. SOOOO... here is where I get to the good part. =) I'm glad she saw Ben. She's glad she saw Ben. But she said they were both great. They play Evan differently. MLB had some moments that were more emotionally charged than Ben. Ben had some vocal moments that "filled the room" a bit more than MLB. But in the end she said both shows she saw were equally awesome for different reasons.

If you need/want to see the show because you want to see the show and experience the story - MLB will not disappoint. If you need/want to see the show because you want to see Ben - then try to see a show with Ben - but the moral of my story is even if you get tickets for a show Ben is supposed to be doing - its not a guarantee.

MLB was spectacular this afternoon. Truly adored his performance. I haven't been able to see Ben, but if you're like me and can't see him, do not be deterred from seeing the show. MLB is giving a powerful performance.

I saw Michael perform Labor Day Weekend and he was wonderful. I openly wept. I've been attending shows on Broadway and the West End for around 40 years and this was one of the most memorable experiences I've had.  I want to see him in the role again, but they haven't released his schedule after 11/11 (and he isn't saying) and it is a long trip for me. If he is playing Evan during a show you have tickets for, you're in for a treat.

Regarding the argument on bootlegs, I am conflicted. As a novelist who has discovered pirated versions of my books on the internet (as well as an attorney), I know the need for copyright laws and stringent enforcement. However, on the other side, I would love to hear MLB sing one or two of these songs again, and I may never have another chance, which saddens me immeasurably.

I saw MLB last Wednesday.   I've never seen Ben in the role, so I can't compare.  That said, MLB was beyond amazing- definitely got into the emotions (snot and all lol) and did Evan's "tics" believably (which requires doing ENOUGH without OVERDOING it).   Yes, I'm disappointed I didn't get to see Ben- only because of all that has been said about it.   I had purchased a premium seat for the purpose of getting a chance to see Ben before he left.   I can now say I am glad I got in to see MLB in the role while he's still there (his contract must be coming up soon too... they should really do something to keep him 'til he can be the "primary" Evan either in NYC or on tour). Not once during the show did I think about wishing I was seeing Ben.   For what its worth, I saw Colton as Jared and Asa/Garrett as Mr. and Mrs. Murphy- all excellent.   If you are going to a Wed. or Sat. matinee, you are in excellent hands with MLB.

Also- I just want to mention how well-organized the stage door was- barricades up, security told us the rules (one signature per person, no selfies), Colton, Asa/Garrett (together), and MLB all came out and were friendly and appreciative.  Security also told us when no one further was coming out.  The crowd was also "well behaved"- no pushing, folks made sure kids who the cast might not see got a chance, etc.

I'm aware that this is a board for MLB, but has anyone heard anything about Colton Ryan leaving the cast? His Instagram post made less than 10mins ago made it sound like he is.

I just assumed it was a post about going on as Evan today, but the comments are making me suspicious... but we all know the DEH "stans" can get crazy at times. And the website still says he will be understudying.

I have a hunch last night was Colton’s last day with the show and someone named Ben Ross is replacing him. Ben has been on Garrett’s Instagram and has been exchanging with Garrett and Olivia frequently.

I was at the matinee Saturday and have already seen it with Ben.  Simply said you'll see an amazing show if MLB is performing. Ben might be a notch better singing wise but MLB holds his own and IMHO is more believable as Evan.

Are there any clips of MLB singing (anything at all, not just DEH) online? I haven't been able to find anything and I'm super curious to hear what his voice sounds like.
