Totally, and believe me, it would be more interesting and outrageous, and more emotionally powerful than Everyday Rapture is. Yet, this comes from someone who can't act, sing or dance.
But I can act as myself perfectly. =)

Anyways, can we go back to Montego? We all have our opinions about Sherie, and the arguement isn't going anywhere. Montego is the best, but honestly both CZJ and Kate were absolutely brilliant in their shows.

Montego Glover has a strong belt and that's about it. If you thought that she had charisma and there was depth in her performance, well, there's nothing any of us can do for you.

'nuff said.

So anytime people play a character that is the same name as them, it automatically means that they are playing themselves. Because Neil Patrick Harris as the immoral, womanizing "Neil Patrick Harris" of the Harold and Kumar movies is the same Neil Patrick Harris in a committed gay relationship. Or when Betty White guest starred on Ugly Betty as "Betty White," the Golden Girl itching for a celebrity feud, she wasn't acting, just trying to conjure up tabloid fodder with Vanessa Williams.

What Sherie Rene Scott does in Everyday Rapture is acting. She still has to go on that journey every performance; it's not like she got up on that stage and everything that happens in the show is actually happening to her at that very moment. Ben Brantley and Charles Isherwood recognize the caliber of her performance and are both rooting for her to win.

Out of the three performances that are still running, Only CZJ and Sherie are deserving of the award. It will be pretty tragic if Montego wins it.

when her a character was beaten up at the end act 1 one, it was practically laughable how poor her acting was. I didn't feel a thing for her "character."

I want CZJ to win, but I am also a Sherie fan.

Steven, I understand where you are coming from, and all the other statements about Scott. I go with what I feel. And I felt nothing when I was seeing Sherie, I mean, I thought her "online feud" with her fan was entertaining and all, but far from Tony worthy.
Kate and Catherine were both perfection. Montego gave a performance that is different from all the other actresses this season. Maybe flawed, but I was more interested in seeing how her character developed than anyone else's in Memphis and she enchanted me. So in my opion she should win. That's all.

Having seen all of the nominees in this category, I rank it as Kate Baldwin, Montego Glover, Christiane Noll, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Sherie Rene Scott, from from "least favorite" to "most favorite" performance. I agree with all the above comments, Montego has a great voice, but her acting is so-so.
Sherie is giving an amazingly honest, and personal performance in an extremely smart and well-written show, and I believe she'll leave the Tonys with at least one award in hand.

Muscle, on the other hand, is about 15 years behind developmentally and I'm convinced only has the opposite opinion as everyone else just to elicit anger from the board.

Or he has no taste.

Oh and Montego Glover's not going to win the Tony.
