Aida with an historically accurate cast... nobody had blond hair and blue eyes in Egypt! I would love to hear the orchestrations get retreated as well to really musically define Nubia and Egypt.
Cher is the only Mame that would sell out every performance[well maybe with Cher only doing 4 a week] with very little publicity and Baranksi as Vera, then as Mame when Cher is 'resting'. Lots of choices for another Vera and a newly discovered talent for Gooch.

Well, it's not as if anything else about the original production attempted to be historically accurate, either. The only reference to history at all were the bookend scenes in the museum, which should have been cut because they made the rest of the show seem even less coherent.
As for The Life, I hope that gawdawful show never returns to Broadway. A few decent tunes couldn't dig that hideous book out of its dreary grave. The Hookers Ball was one of the worst missteps I've seen in a Broadway musical. Right up there with Out for Blood from Carrie.

The tag line for my show is “DREAM BIG” and that’s just what my stellar cast of “second chances” are here to do. I will now accept my check for creating the most amazing revival ever to grace the great white way, please and thank you.

I literally came here just to say this musical (how could anyone forget one of the greatest Broadway hits, Rolling Stock?). I think you have an all star cast right here and I can't believe someone hasn't put Danielle Bregoli on Broadway yet. She's bound to be a star
I think MAME with Baranski could actually work commercially. Between Good Wife/Good Fight and Mamma Mia and her earlier work in film/TV/theatre, she's a bigger name than people think she is, especially with the "women over 50" crowd. With a light polish on the book and great reviews, it could be a hit –– not making the money that Bette's Dolly made (but she also wouldn't be commanding Bette's insane salary), more in line with Bernadette's Dolly, Radcliffe in H2$, Gyllenhaal's Sunday, etc. (There's also the opportunity to cast a "name" as Vera and a theatre star as Gooch.)
And if Young Sheldon gets cancelled, Iain Armitage as Patrick! CBS can fund the revival.
The Who's TOMMY should be on Broadway again ASAP....give it to Ivo Van Hove or Sam Gold, Michael Mayer even....the material is good enough to warrant it and a new take on it with new theater technologies could be really incredible for an audience.
Funny Girl should happen with Bart Sher just a different leading lady now that Ambroise took My Fair Lady. Shosanna Bean, Annaleigh Ashford to the front please.
Titantic could be great to reexamine, but i hear The Signature's production from DC by Eric Shaffer may come in soon.
Merrily We Roll Along but not the one that is coming via Roundabout and Fiasco....the Maria Friedman directed one that played at boston's Huntington theater should have moved here right after. It's a shame it didn't.
The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of he Crowd. Great score with many "forgotten" hit songs (that haven't been sung in the mainstream for years, but should be brought back).
The allegorical plot holds up in 2018, and I think the character of the Negro can be re-named to encompass any other, or even multiple ethnicities.
Can we just revive American Psycho in the exact same production with the exact same cast, because let's be honest, it should never have closed. The time we are in today (a time it just missed) it would be perfect.
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

Yes! I was thinking about this today. I've still never been able to read the libretto but from what I've heard it's kind of amazing how the concept has held up.
I'd like to see a new production of Nine. I greatly enjoyed the last revival, but it's a piece that offers plenty for another director to examine, and such an opportunity for casting all of the grand ladies we adore so much. Imagine Laura Benanti (who was delivered an absolutely breath taking "Unusual Way" back in 2003) taking on Luisa now.
The last revival of Nine was so great that I'm not shocked we haven't seen a new production since. I'd love to see it agai, but I can't think of anyone that could top that cast.
I've been thinking about The Sound of Music. It's been 22 years since the last revival. I could see this property doing well on a post-pandemic Broadway. Wishful thinking, but I would love to see what Bartlett Sher would do with it at Lincoln Center/ The Beaumont.

This is from two years ago, but My Favorite Year was the last show I saw before the pandemic, and I'd kill to see a production with Andrew Barth Feldman as Benjy Stone and Victor Garber as Alan Swann. The production I saw, a high school production, cast siblings as King Kaiser and Alice Miller, and that created a hilarious dynamic during "Professional Showbizness Comedy."

As for this, I've heard a lot of people talking about the musical Passing Strange and I was wondering if that could be revived anytime soon. I know that show was very interconnected with Stew - could there even be a revival without him as a part of it?
"I think that when a movie says it was 'based on a true story,' oh, it happened - just with uglier people." - Peanut Walker, Shucked
I cannot imagine that Passing Strange will ever be revived on Broadway. The show was a huge financial failure, despite mostly terrific reviews. Maybe off-Broadway.
To the poster re Black Musicals, I would propose Purlie be at the top of the list. It is a great, fun show with a wonderful score and three great roles. Multiple show-stoppers. I love A Raisin in the Sun, but just couldn't get into Risin. I did not think the score was good. It did win Best Musical, but in a very bad year. i would rather someone work on the book of Hallelujah! Baby, which also has a great score, multiple show-stopper numbers, and a real point of view. I loved it, er, 54 years ago, when I saw it twice, a lot for a kid of 16. At the time, I didn't care that the book scenes occasionally slowed the action because the musical numbers were so terrific. Fix the book scenes, i say.

As much as I love Ragtime, given that the original revival was probably way too soon for it to be revived and that revival has only been 11 years ago (and 23 years since the original), I must say I'd be rather disappointed if that got a revival before some other earlier shows still waiting their first revival.
However, your namesake (Stop The World.... ) would be a great idea, I feel. If they can find a name to headline it, there are enough classic standards in that show that I feel it could end up having a wide enough audience to be profitable.
