I actually think it's a pretty brilliant idea. It will air on Easter Sunday.
Um, no. The next NBC Live Musical Event is BYE BYE BIRDIE starring Jennifer Lopez. This one is in December 2017.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is NOT the next one.

So, will they also have a musical next winter too?
How much money for Adam Lambert to be a slam dunk casting for this? Seems like the perfect vehicle to advertise American Idol reboot.

The revamping of AMERICAN IDOL is at ABC not NBC.
NBC could care less about promoting a show on another competing network.
This is one of the few ALW shows I really dig, but I fear how it could be butchered. Not everyone can hit everything in Gethesmane. Still, hoping for the best!
Whoops Brody you're of course right. I have a bad habit of being confused. :|
Well, I still stand by my casting - Adam Lambert would be tapped to do this. Or at the very least, asked.

I agree that this is really the only ALW musical I like. Can we please get Tony Vincent as Judas again to relive my teenage crush I had on him?

I think Constantine Maroulis would also be a good fit. He has experience with the show.

No thank you to Adam Lambert. Please cast Pink though. Additionally, cast Kristin Bell as Mary.
And William Jackson Harper would be an ideal Judas. Or Jesus for that matter. On an NBC show, but probably not big enough of a name?

Bruno Mars as Jesus is something I would love to see.
Maybe a cameo by Ben Vereen?

Is there a national holiday involving Bridges so NBC can do Bridges with Steven and Kelly?
Lady Gaga in all her weird and wonderful glory as Mary Magdalene.
I wouldn't mind Justin Timberlake.

I love the musical but feel a certain sense of dread about this one. I hope they avoid all the 'behind-the-scenes' nonsense.
It's kind of funny this would be on Easter, given that one of the many criticisms by devout Christians of the musical is that it makes no mention of the Resurrection.
Very excited about this actually! So is A Few Good Men not happening at all then?
