Othello
Ride the Cyclone
Sweet Charity
The Band's Visit
Once on This Island
Which one will it be?
Riddle seems to think it's the band's visit: http://nypost.com/2016/12/15/will-bands-visit-make-the-jump-to-broadway/
Anybody know when In Transit is going to close?

June 25 according to Show Score. Not sure where they got that info.
That is when tickets are on sale through, but that doesn't mean anything.

Sweet Charity and Invisible Thread need a lot of work.
I haven't seen Ride the Cyclone but The Band's Visit and Hadestown are my favorite suggestions for that space. It's hard to imagine Hadestown without Amber Gray though.

Agreed. I loved Hadestown but if it's going to transfer (and I hope it does) I hope it waits til next season so Amber Grey can play Persephone.
My choices would be 1) Hadestown 2) The Band's Visit 3) Ride the Cyclone. I don't think any of those are commercial enough though.
OTHELLO needs to be on Broadway and Circle is perfect with the hopes by this spring...In Transit should be gone in January.
I can imagine Hadestown is waiting until next Fall or Spring. Assuming they're planning on bringing Amber Gray back (which they simply have to, she's incredible), they'll need to wait until after this Tony season, to keep up traction with her and her Featured Actress Comet chances.
If Chavkin, Comet, and Gray do well at the Tonys, it would be the perfect marketing to bring in a new, folk-y immersive off-brand Broadway show on the heels of a recent similar success.
Bumping, now that In Transit is closing!
FUN HOME revival please and thank you!
I'm thinking Hadestown, Cyclone, Othello, Charity, Island or Band's Visit are ALL possible future tenants.
In no particular order, and with no exception to one taking another house. But they'd all work in that space.

The sudden, random closing makes more sense if something is going in sooner rather than later.
Normally I would agree, but with Tony cutoff coming up in less than 3 weeks I'm not so sure.
ONCE ON THIS ISLAND will take circle in the Fall. They will need a short Summer filler.

Never gonna happen, but a FUN HOME revival
Don't touch this theatre unless Beth Malone and Michael Cerveris are on the marquee as Big Al and Bruce!
Isn't it to small for a musical like Once on this Island?
ONCE ON THIS ISLAND is a relatively small show. Larger shows have been in the CIRCLE.

Isn't it going to be hard for them to recoup with such few seats?

Exactly. And isn't this production supposed to using objects as instruments? So about as much of an orchestra as In Transit has. My guess is ISLAND comes first, like CurtainPullDowner says. (And who knows, maybe SWEET CHARITY in the Spring.)
