WOW looks like all this outrage calling for people to see Mandy instead and then LOVE has resulted in an outpour of support for Mandy tonight. Jks she has still barely sold anything and the balcony still closed.

Meanwhile Nicole has already practically sold out for tomorrow night, despite posts on reddit suggesting they do exchange performances (with hundreds of upvotes talking about being nice to box office staff) and someone here even saying they will refund! (which is very generous of them).

We generally don't seem to live in the real world sometimes.

Ok but sure the Tony voters will REMEMBERRRRR THISSSSSS MARK MY WORDSSSS111!1. Ok whatever. Niolce doesn't need these radical vengeful people to validate herself anymore.

I predict that this kind of behaviour will in the next few years become left behind when we hopefully have a new generation of reasonable, strategic, intelligent progressive leadership who recognise that they aren't going to hand this country over to an entire generation of Republican Leadership and the only way to achieve those goals is to once again return to a time of freedom of expression, mutual respect, acceptance that not everyone is going to buy your ideas and that's ok, honest and accurate description of reality.

Limiting freedom of expression and holding tyrannical views about what should happen to people if they don't agree with you only works in an authoritarian dictatorship not a democracy where people can just simply shut up as you tell them to and vote in private. Left-wing activists have hijacked the progressive movement and driven everyone off the cliff. It's time to leave them behind for the sake of our own movement or you risk becoming a marginalised fringe extreme that will have no influence or power except getting angry on social media.

"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022) "Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009) "Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Keep witch-hunting and you wonder why Harris lost lol. Harris’s loss is no surprise to anyone who is not delusional enough to live in the liberal bubble and pretend everyone should care about identity politics before putting food on their table.

Conveniently leaving out the support for Russell Brand and restricting reproductive choice. People keep trying to shift the conversation to what Trump policies she does or doesn't support when we can already see what she does support.
"

Yeah you mean her support that you concocted in your mind.

poor Nicole she has to be perfect to be acceptable to broadway fans! Lol
"

I bet not many of the “Broadway fans” are shelling out 300 bucks every night to see her.

So...the exact thing that Trump and the right wing intend to put in place? And the solution is the mean ol' left needs to shut up and get along with the people who are trying to shut THEM up and suppress them?

Trump wants to use the military on his "enemies." The mean old left on this board wants to...not use their money to see someone who may have voted to put that person in office.

BoTh sIdEs aRe JuSt As bAd!!!!!!!

Nobody's protesting at the theater. Nobody is calling for a boycott. People just...don't want to use their money to support to someone they believe doesn't support them. And you think that's cancel culture? That's deserving of mockery? People should be required to spend their money how you see fit? Who's controlling whom?

It's become abundantly clear you're just spouting right-wing talking points by now, all about a country whose complexities you don't even understand.

I'm pretty sure the exact context of the 'military on his enemies quote' was when Trump was asked if he is worried about violence/extreme reactions on election day and he said that he would want to engage the military in this context to solve 'the enemy within'. He then as I understand it used the quote 'the enemy within' in OTHER contexts to refer to completely different people (i.e. his political enemies) but did NOT call the military to be used on those individuals. In other words, no he did not say that he would simply want to use the military on his enemies. You are living in a hysterical dream world where you basically get to pretend you have Hitler coming after you.

There are some groups that definitely should have cause for concern right now - I agree that this does not bode well for reproductive rights/abortion, or for populations who arrived in the USA illegally. And I think it's completely right if you stand up for those groups. But you are all acting hysterically like Trump is coming after you personally because you don't agree with him - I don't believe that's true and in fact as we can see in this thread it's the exact opposite.

I think you're being disingenuous about the reaction to Nicole and my reply - I've said several times people are allowed to choose what they see and not see, but don't pretend that people have not tried to boycott or get Nicole out of sunset or take away her Tony. The reaction was MUCH stronger than people simply saying they don't want to see Nicole in the show because they wouldn't enjoy it knowing her alleged views. I am sympathetic to anyone that believes this.

The point of the chart above was to hopefully help you realise how extreme and out of touch you all are. This is among the most radical and extreme place of Americans I currently have come across.

Ultimately, you can keep saying I'm 'right' but I'm only 'right' in this hysterical, pseudo-religious ultra left American woke culture that appears to be tearing itself apart and at the same time got Donald Trump elected, congratulations. While also doing crazy things like putting the entire cast of "Great Comet" out of work because Mandy Patinkin didn't want to step into such a **** storm.

I understand EXACTLY what is happening, and I hope you do learn from getting Donald Trump elected and stop this madness. As well as STOP exporting this dangerous ideology outside the USA. You're going to destroy other countries in your own wake.

You can actually use AI to fact check your claims, and I suggest that you please do and stop spreading misinformation. I also hate that the mere fact I'm trying to keep the discussion based in reality will be taken by some in your toxic culture as implicit support for Trump when all I am trying to do is keep as grounded in REALITY. If you don't do this, everyone outside your bubble can see it and are voting accordingly because it doesn't influence. And you can't see the misinformation yourselves because the culture does not allow for open expression and challenge. This is why we need freedom of speech!

Would really love for the Mods to shut this thread down already. It’s so far off-topic, I’m genuinely shocked its gone on this long.

If y’all wanna debate politics, take it to the Off-Topic threads. This is beyond ridiculous. You’re all just talking in circles.
