Dude, I spent more than twenty years in Catholic education, and Catholicism is a form of Christianity. I'm not aware that anyone really doubts this. And from that twenty years I learned that it's utter bull****, whatever you call it.

If you believe that I sincerely believe you are delusional, and I believe that you have just used the most self limiting tactic you can think of because if people hear Hitler they know it’s overblown so suddenly all the other criticism becomes less credible. I think this is likely another self-caused harm leading to a Trump victory."
I don't believe Trump is as bad as Hitler. I do believe Trump is safely on the same side as Hitler on any line I'd care to draw between good and evil.
Hitler was a socialist, exactly as the left is in the USA today. That's the historical facts.
Yesterday an islamic assassination attempt on Trump has been foiled. 3 muslims arrested. He gets in the way of their plan. The left is being used for the plan.
I would say Trump is a victim of that phenomenon, but he and the country were saved by the gigantic majority of voters who understood this and understand history.
"I made the mistake of not realizing that they could be easily interpreted as being politically related and I apologize to anyone who understandably reached that conclusion. " Um, you posed with Russel Brand (Trump supporter and accused of sexual misconduct) and posed with a MAGA hat, and you're saying it was a mistake? Talk about trying to close the barn doors after the horses got out. Sorry dear, not buying the BS. Not that I was planning to see the show anyway as I deplore Jamie Lloyd's minimalism direction, but she asked for this.

Democrats need to stop compromising their positions and appealing to these voters who have proven they're not going to shift. They lost because Dem voters/undecided voters were unmotivated and stayed home. They need to energize those people, not waste time appealing to the registered Republicans."
If this was supposed to be a response to me: you are correct that the "greater good" Anti-Trump coalition Democrats have envisioned for the past 8 years has never materialized. However, you are dead wrong about how Trump won this time. Again, this "base turnout" theory of politics is dead. Absolutely dead. Trump won by fracturing the Democratic coalition and winning young, Latino, and Asian voters who are either new voters or voted Democrat previously. The West Coast still has millions of ballots left to count and Trump has already won more votes than in 2020. It sounds ****ing absurd, but Donald Trump of all people has assembled a working class multiracial coalition. If Democrats don't change their path and get serious about good Urban governance, immigration, inflation, and crime, we will lose more and lose by more.

Um...the Nazis were not at all socialist. That was just cosmetics and propaganda. Please learn history:

There is no such thing as "the left" or "the right." Within both political orientations, a range of beliefs, goals, people, and personalities exist. Do some progressives support socialism? Yes, but to suggest that is the position of any monolithic left or the Democratic Party is false.

Yes, Trump won the election because of cancel culture."
I actually do think extremes on the left helped Trump win, but everything else Seb28 is saying is so wildly ignorant and straight out of a Newsmax screamfest, and we would all do best to just ignore that sorta stupidity so it (like many other trolls of days past) just goes away.

Umm..if you think Hitler was a socialist then you have a strange relationship to facts and history.
I see people everywhere making the same journey that he has gone through, from radical dazed left in 2016 to neutral, stable, right in 2024.
I am convinced that "the left" is a phase of naivety, ignorance, a kind of striving for a better world based on a misplaced, unworldly idea that anyone wo agrees with them has good will. And that sooner or later everyone will move towards reality, to neutral right.
I do find it interesting that you would have to describe 9 minutes and 30 seconds as long and as a consequence justify why it's worth listening to (you're probably right that many people would find it too long).
But how long is media typically consumed with political issues and events? In my opinion these issues require hours and hours of research not minutes. If people think 9 minutes and 30 seconds is too long I think they are not engaged enough with first hand information.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000

Someone in the 'sunset blvd reviews' thread went last night and noted Tom was back on as Joe and he sounded great. I'm assuming the reactions/response to Nicole were normal. It's going to be interesting to see how much of an effect (if any) this controversy has on ticket sales and reactions to her performance.
My personal opinion is that Nicole should have been more careful about her social media use since she is really under a microscope right now, but I also kind of always assumed she was very conservative knowing how religious and pro-life she is. I guess I am able to separate the performer from the performance in this case. If she started actually spewing hate on social media, that would be a different story.
There is no way she can ever do press again without being questioned about all of this. Whatever her personal beliefs she has an opportunity now to use that space to reinforce her advocacy. And I hope she does. It’s not about whether she voted for Kamala. It’s about her support (or not) of the protection of the people who make up her peers and fan base.

I'm not sure what you think Press is, but every person doing a press tour has a list of topics the interviewer is not to ask about and in order to maintain access to other interview subjects, those interviewers comply. Politics is a pretty common one.
