And why should it matter who she voted for Trump when 52.4% of the country voted for the a—hole. Censuring her because she may have voted for Trump is one of the reasons the Democrats lost. (I volunteered 8 - 12 hours a week, so don’t assume i am not as committed a democrat as some of you are). If you watch CNN and MSNBC, pundits are concluding based on stats and exit interviews (I have never been exit I interviewed and I do wonder who these people are) that they lost more of the working class who felt they were too focused on what was for them niche issues, generally far left.
Yep, Trump won under the prevailing question of "why are you worried about [insert far left buzz word] when I can't afford groceries" and as a lifelong leftie myself, if we keep listening to the folks that scream the loudest on the internet, we're doomed to lose and lose and lose.
Yes, in exit polling and interviews and in the data, the economy won out. Couple that with the GOP candidate spending $200M on anti-trans advertising targeted at Democrats, yes people recoiled from it.
You don't need to waste your fingertips coming after me, I believe Palestinians should be free, that trans people deserve every single right that cis people have and Ukraine should be given a blank check as far as I'm concerned.
But the majority of this country said that they don't care about those things and that the economy is more of a determining factor. I don't make the rules, that's how it panned out. Argue with a wall.

We are going to censure her when she is one of 73,000,000 people? and we don’t actually know who she voted for??? I did not see her out there campaigning for Trump (or any other candidate).
Anyone can decide to see or not see a show for any reason you can come up with. If someone decides they won’t see it because they don’t like the leading lady’s politics, that is their choice. But to project that this is a monumentally important issue (the melodramatics of some posters on this board is to me worthy of high-schoolers) is absurd.
For those who like data as part of their discussions, the current popular vote spread per the NYT is:
Donald Trump: 74,847,542 votes (50.4%)
Kamala Harris: 71,259,676 votes (48%)
The 2024 registered voter number I could find online is 186.5 million, so 40+million did not vote and a lot of people did not register to vote given the eligible population 18 or older is around 260 million.
Most of the 73,000,000 don’t have seven million followers on Instagram, though.
Do we really want to participate in giving her that platform? I know this is just a minor infraction, maybe if she promised to use her alt account from now on…
Beyoncé is not an ally. Actions speak louder than words, Mrs. Carter. #Dubai #$$$
I understand the frustration with the fact that people are spending so much time and energy on such a small issue.
However, I also disagree with everyone saying we're "canceling" or "censuring" her. If she got fired or somehow formally rebuked, sure, then let's have a discussion. But this situation is just individuals discussing their personal opinions. There is no sort of organized action or mobs in the street. I just don't think it's that out of bounds to discuss publicly available information and make personal decisions based on that. Especially since Nicole is more than able to make a clarifying statement to change people's mind if she so chooses.
While we've allowed the conversation here given recent events and it being relevant to the community, we ask that those wishing to continue the conversation and discuss the broader implications of the election or politics to do so on the off-topic post.

"Free Palestine", "Ukraine", "trans rights".
"
Those "examples" are absurd. Most far-left folks are against supporting Ukraine. "Settler colonialism" or "Latinx" would be better examples."
Yes, ironically, far left found themselves aligning with many far right stances. They both are anti Ukraine and antisemitic (yes, not anti-Israel government, but straight up antisemitic, as some of their actions showed). All of these college campuses encampments, protests, assaults, ganging up on Jewish businesses have backfired, predictably. These protests with "death to America" slogan and flag burning have been taken very negatively among immigrants who know the cost of succeeding in the US and obtaining a legal status here. Many of us naturalized citizens consider this country the only home and have nowhere to return to. The alternative is quite literally death, jail, poverty and homelessness. Shift to Trump in minority and immigrant groups doesn't surprise me a bit. It was a reactionary vote in many cases.

Why was I censored?
I think it's really easy to sit in Manhattan and call those upset about this election "hysterical" or "overreacting." But the legislation that's about to hit this country is going to harm so many people across the US (babe the checks and balances are GONE) and I'm not sure that NYC is totally safe with our mayor having one foot behind bars. I don't believe for a second that he wouldn't sell this city out for protection. This has the potential to be catastrophic. Not to mention that inflation is sure to get worse (Trumpers do know that WE pay those tariffs right?). It's about to be really rough for a long time.
Trump supporters wanted to "trigger the libs" and they did! We don't like them and we won't support them and that goes for artists in the entertainment industry too. You've royally effed it up for everyone! Have fun!

This is truly only being talked about on Broadway related sites and message boards. The mainstream masses are clueless about any of this. I asked 5 entertainment industryfriends and they first, have no idea there’s a SUNSET BLVD revival on Broadway right now, and second, are totally unaware of Nicole’s “alleged” backlash. Even a friend who’s close to Jake Spears is totally unaware of the trashing TAMMY FAYE is getting on message boards. She’s excited about attending the musical’s opening night."
Seeing that this was discussed this morning on the View (in Nicoles's favor) it's gone beyond the Broadway message boards. And, as the season and awards season progresses, will continue to do so.

Wait... there's no disagreement on this board on the need for our side to zealously defend the rights of our transgender friends, is there?"
On this board, no. However, the question was about the buzzwords and I've answered. Someone said these are absurd examples, but their perception of reality is I think a little absurd. As somebody correctly pointed out, vast majority of electorate did not prioritize the rights in question when they cast the vote. That's just the fact. I hope democrats will learn something from this horrible disaster and next time will concentrate on an overall battle rather than few fights. Of course, if we all would still be able to vote in four years.

You're more generous than I am, because I don't understand it. It's a thread on a message board. As you note, there is no coordinated effort to make the conversation here extend to the real world. So why are some so offended by the thread and the conversation's mere presence on this board? Can't they just...not read it?

Conveniently leaving out the support for Russell Brand and restricting reproductive choice. People keep trying to shift the conversation to what Trump policies she does or doesn't support when we can already see what she does support.

Yeah you mean her support that you concocted in your mind.
poor Nicole she has to be perfect to be acceptable to broadway fans! Lol
