What's this talk of Michael C Hall? John's still going to be in the show on Friday, right?

I saw the Friday at 10 show two days before John Cameron Mitchell took the week off.

i wonder if this has something to do with rebecca naomi jones taking over as yitzhak. the final friday 10pm show is lena hall's last weekend.
After tonight's performance (didn't win the lotto, but got excellent 50%-off seats at the TKTS booth two hours before showtime), I am sad to report the death of Hedwig's manager, Phyllis Stein. She passed during a routine face transplant. An Altoid fell from the mouth of a surgery tech into her exposed eye socket, and her immune system had a curiously strong reaction. Hedwig still Skypes with the donor, a young Latina college student named Concepcion - they don't have much to say, but she likes seeing Phyllis's face.

The surgeon was taking a selfie when Phyllis was under anesthesia. That's what Hedwig said when I was there.
Was an Altoid still the cause of death? JCM was on fire, btw - he's back to 75-80% of his pre-injury mobility.

Yes, the Altoid caused an extreme immune system response in Phyllis.
I was at the show last night as well (4th row orchestra 50% off at TKTS 2 hours before the show after losing lotto, I couldn't turn it down) and was really surprised by how well JCM was moving around. I was at the performance where he injured himself a few weeks ago and he was clearly in a lot of pain by the end of that show. If he was in pain last night, it certainly didn't show. I also loved the crate puns and jokes about the brace and explanation for the injury...it really is worked in seamlessly and gives Hedwig more excuses to scream at Yitzhak.
Every time I see him there is something new and exciting about the performance and the show. I don't think it will ever get old for me.
Alright, so I'm going tonight. I'm gonna be row B, and I'm very hopeful all goes well.

@Rainbow Carnage - I'm not sure specifically about the Playbill, but I was told that it's fine to send fanmail to the theater. My husband was nice enough to run in to the Belasco and ask while we were on our way to the airport to fly home, and he said the guy said people do it all the time and he does receive it.
I feel you - it's something I very rarely consider doing too, but JCM was so incredible and he was so sweet at the stage door (I gave him something after the 10pm show last Friday, and he graciously took a picture with me, which I didn't find out until afterwards is apparently a very rare occurrence), and I'd really like to write him to say thank you and let him know how much it and his performance meant to me.
thanks for posting the drawing, I enjoyed it immensely!
Thanks for posting Russ! That's so cool. Have you ever made those for any other shows?

Thanks all. I've never done any caricature work for any other show before, but I am a designer and illustrator as a profession. I just have adored Hedwig since I saw it on Jane Street, and being that JCM came back to perform it on Broadway, I felt like drawing him. I drew him first and got a 2 foot tall glossy print of it to him via someone I know who works on the show. I was told he loves it and it's hanging on the wall in the makeup room at The Belasco. Then I started drawing the band one by one. Then Lena Hall. Then the set. I kept adding more stuff. I'm going to print a few out for the cast.

You even got the little blue recycling bin next to the drum kit.
Russ, is the one in the makeup room a single of the Hedwig in the drawing you posted here?
I keep looking all the details. It ridiculous how right you got it.

The one in the dressing room is the upper body only with his arms up and behind his head. For the full body one, I changed the arms and added the mic and stand.
This is what's on the dressing room wall:

Just curious, does JCM sing the original version of Sugar Daddy or the newer version?

Not that I’m complaining about all the raves JCM’s getting, but is it standard practice for so many publications to review a 3rd replacement on Broadway, or is this happening because he originated the role? Did they review AR and MCH to this extent?
