Jenn Damiano deserves a nomination 100%! Love Tveit too, but Natalie is a much harder role. Although Tveit digs deep as well. Okay, I hope that they both get nominated lol.
Universally miscast is more like it. She is a beautiful, extremely talented, actress. But Laurents did her a disservice casting her as Anita. My money would be on Block or Gwynne, who are true triple threats and show stoppers. I hope to see Olivo again in a part that truely shows her abilities. But I love that this is a true race this year, and anyone can win. Of course we are still waiting for several shows to open and categories to be decided. Jenn Damiano is a interesting cog in the mix.
Jenn "doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell"? Who else is there? Hayden Gwynne (sp), Karen Olivo, Stephine & Megan (depending on who gets placed where), Plimpton. Who else?
when ducks grow thumbs then maybe my opinion will change.
If it comes down to Stephanie and Karen, I think Stephanie should and will get it. Stephanie really runs miles around Karen in acting, singing, and especially dancing.

Well, I am a block head, and I'm not going to try to deny it. But, if you thought different you would be trying to defend Karen rather than pointing out my avatar.

According to your signature, You have not even seen Karen in WSS. I am not going to say Karen WILL win. I haven't seen all of the performances. Maybe you should see all the performances before saying one actress WILL win. Also according to your signature, you have not even seen 9 to 5 yet. How do you know Block acts, sings, and dances circles around Karen?
There's a huge different between saying you WANT one performer to win, and saying they WILL win.
I have heard enough and seen enough clips to know her voice and her dancing, and Stephanie is much better as far as that goes. Acting, no I have not seen but I heard it's nothing too amazing. As far as "want" and "will"... I do believe I put "think" and "should" in my post.

Ok so... realistically, what do we think are the chances are of Aaron winning Best Featured Actor (I'm going out on a limb and assuming he'll almost surely be nominated haha)? That would make me REALLY happy if it happened :)
(though if Will Swenson was nominated for featured also, that would be tough! But..brilliant as Will is, Aaron deserves it)
I think my BIGGEST dream would be if Next to Normal wins Best Show. I know, it's most likely not going to happen, but it sucks that that's the case. I'm sure Billy Elliot is a fantastic show, but it's going to do just fine even if it doesn't win. NtN needs ALL the great word of mouth and publicity it can get, and a Tony win would probably help it out so much.
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
Jenn absolutely deserves a nomination. She's so great!
