I hope Jenn Damiano is nominated for featured actress. She is 17, and just marvelous in N2N.
I'd MUCH rather see Damiano get a nomination than Tveit; she has a much harder role and is exceptional.
Jenn Damiano deserves a nomination 100%! Love Tveit too, but Natalie is a much harder role. Although Tveit digs deep as well. Okay, I hope that they both get nominated lol.

I love Jenn too, but she doesn't have a snowball's chance, unfortunately.
Universally miscast is more like it.
She is a beautiful, extremely talented, actress.
But Laurents did her a disservice casting her as Anita.
My money would be on Block or Gwynne, who are true triple threats and show stoppers.
I hope to see Olivo again in a part that truely shows her abilities.
But I love that this is a true race this year, and anyone can win.
Of course we are still waiting for several shows to open and categories to be decided.
Jenn Damiano is a interesting cog in the mix.

I'd love to see Thomas Sadoski get a Nom for REASONS TO BE PRETTY. With movie stars everywhere it would be nice to see a theatre actor get some love.
Block is a true triple threat? lol. since when?

Since she can act, sing, and dance. If I have to post the clip of her doing "I Love to Hear the Music" from Boy from Oz one more time...
Only 1 or 2 critics noted that Olivo's dancing wasn't as strong as past Anitas. I seriously doubt Tony voters will hold it against her.
I think Olivo has the Tony in the bag at this point.

Jenn "doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell"? Who else is there? Hayden Gwynne (sp), Karen Olivo, Stephine & Megan (depending on who gets placed where), Plimpton. Who else?
The girls from [tos] shouldn't be counted out.
Hayden Gwynne has a great chance of winning, especially if there is a Billy Elliot sweep.

I don't disagree, but with the show having been closed from so long i think they'll likely be left out in the cold.

If it comes down to Stephanie and Karen, I think Stephanie should and will get it. Stephanie really runs miles around Karen in acting, singing, and especially dancing.
^ With your avatar, I am sure you're not biased!!
None of the [tos] actors are getting any nominations.

Well, I am a block head, and I'm not going to try to deny it. But, if you thought different you would be trying to defend Karen rather than pointing out my avatar.
According to your signature, You have not even seen Karen in WSS. I am not going to say Karen WILL win. I haven't seen all of the performances. Maybe you should see all the performances before saying one actress WILL win. Also according to your signature, you have not even seen 9 to 5 yet. How do you know Block acts, sings, and dances circles around Karen?
There's a huge different between saying you WANT one performer to win, and saying they WILL win.

I have heard enough and seen enough clips to know her voice and her dancing, and Stephanie is much better as far as that goes. Acting, no I have not seen but I heard it's nothing too amazing. As far as "want" and "will"... I do believe I put "think" and "should" in my post.

Ok so... realistically, what do we think are the chances are of Aaron winning Best Featured Actor (I'm going out on a limb and assuming he'll almost surely be nominated haha)? That would make me REALLY happy if it happened :)
(though if Will Swenson was nominated for featured also, that would be tough! But..brilliant as Will is, Aaron deserves it)
I think my BIGGEST dream would be if Next to Normal wins Best Show. I know, it's most likely not going to happen, but it sucks that that's the case. I'm sure Billy Elliot is a fantastic show, but it's going to do just fine even if it doesn't win. NtN needs ALL the great word of mouth and publicity it can get, and a Tony win would probably help it out so much.
Aaron's chances will be clearer on Wednesday when the reviews come out.
His performance, however, is nowhere near as good as Swenson's, Sieber's, Jbara's, or even Kudisch's IMO.

He's giving the second most passionate and believable performance of the season.
I think Stephanie should and will get it.
You said WILL. And I love people who base things off bootlegs.

Perhaps Jenn Damiano is a real long shot to win a TONY, but I don't think it's far fetched to think she'll get a nomination.

Jenn absolutely deserves a nomination. She's so great!
