Got an email that Audra will be starring in "Ohio State Murders" re-opening The Jones in the fall. No exact dates were given just yet. But exciting! Guess I'll be in NYC in Oct/Nov.
And troynow hits the bullseye again!
TAKE MY $$$
I have a friend who is an investor (worked on the Company revival) and invited me (i'm poor) to invest. But it's pretty much said and done. So that's exciting!
Audra has a concert at Carnegie Hall on Saturday 12/3, so I'd be surprised if it starts before then.
The email said Fall 2022, but it might be dependent on construction being done.
In case anyone is interested or cares about this fact: This play is less than an hour long.

It’s very possible to just take a weekend of performances off. Or perhaps a limited run will have concluded by then.
either way, will a play that short with a “star” who does not draw crowds in nonmusical plays really be able to have any kind of success on Bway?

My favorite runtime! I hope they have 7:00 curtains so I can be home by 8:30. That's the dream!
So it's the Six of straight plays?
Not sure this will sell well at all.

Kenny Leon said at the Tonys Red Carpet that he’s directing this. It’s likely the 2nd of four Broadway productions he’s helming this season, the first being Topdog/Underdog.
Yes, he is directing it.
The title is intriguing.
Less than an hour long? Is this pamphlet of a show actually going to command Broadway prices?

For a commuter, not worth the travel time. Better be a lot of city folks who are willing to pay full price (even half price) for that short a show. They should attach another short play to it.

I didn't realize it was a LCT show. So, financially speaking, who cares.

I'm not sure I want more than an hour of this type of content. If you're not familiar, it's EXTREMELY heavy and an hour is enough. Regardless of commanding those prices, the material is very disturbing.

Is a shame LCT held back all the best orchestra seats from members. I would have paid a bit more than the $67 listed to sit on the aisle in the orchestra

Well, yes and no…
I’m not actually sure how this works in a situation like this:
Jeffrey Richards is producing in partnership with Lincoln Center. So I’m not sure if it’s actually a non-profit production, or whether it’s a commercial production where LCT is providing resources in exchange for a cut (in which case, their cut would be funneled into their non-profit operations). If that’s the case, then theoretically Jeffrey Richards would still be using a model that aimed for recoupment.
Alternately, maybe it’s a non-profit production, where Jeffrey Richards collects a fee for calling the shots, and fulfilling producing responsibilities.
I actually don’t know! LCT has done co-productions like this in the past, but I don’t know how it worked then either. Maybe Hogan, or another industry-savvy user can chime in?
The official dedication ceremony for the James Earl Jones Theatre is set for September 12.
Hello, the person stating this show is less than an hour long is wrong. The run time is 75 minutes. Just wanted to clarify that because people seem to be believing that false information. Take care, all.
"The run time is 75 minutes."
Has this production started rehearsals? How would you know that? The recent Goodman video production (which was a recording of a staged production) was a little less than an hour. The off-broadway premiere at Theatre for a New Audience was a few minutes over an hour. How do we know this production is longer than usual?
Obviously it could be! I just didn't know they were that far into production.
This is a great play and I'm glad it's getting such a high profile production... but given so much of Adrienne Kennedy's work is shorter and this is her Broadway debut, I do wish they were also doing a curtain raiser or two. More of a celebration of Adrienne Kennedy than this short one act.
Deleted for redundancy.
