That West Side playbill is beautiful. This differs from other Rudin rehearsal covers because it's in color. For all I know it could be a production photo, I don't know what costumes look like for this production.
Ohhhh I sincerely hope they change this....like they did for The Front Page a few years back...not a fan."
I love this cover. I think it captures a moment that is very real and tender. That being said, it'll almost certainly switch over to a production shot for opening night.
I don't understand this Rudin trend. These Playbills are fine for his plays, but they just don't make sense for musicals. He's also inconsistent... Carousel had those horrible Playbills (for an atrocious production, IMO) yet Dolly had gloriously colorful Playbills with the production artwork for the entire run.
Next year, we can all look forward to a Playbill with Hugh Jackman picking his nose in rehearsal to add to our collections.

I respectfully disagree. I think these Rudin bills hark back to an era of Broadway where the emphasis was on actors and acting instead of marketing and commerciality. I support this trend and I wish more producers would follow suit.
Also worth nothing: Mean Girls has reverted back to plain pink with white lettering without all the doodles and Slave Play seems to have gone back to their original cover as well, with only the title of the play.

OK, now that's REALLY cute. I love the idea of the Mean Girls holiday Playbill or the shifting Beetlejuice Playbills, especially if they're showing off great art that was pitched but ultimately rejected. For long running shows, it's nice for collectors.
The Six Playbill makes the show look so fun. The font could be better but that's a nitpick.
Still have a strong preference for the Boston branding, but that is a really nice new cover. Wonder if it's a total rebrand or if it's gonna tie in to Valentine's Day or something; they've been leaning into "Why live if not for love?" on social media the past few days.
DAMN. If that's a temporary Playbill, I might have to swing by the theater just to ask for one. The aesthetic of Moulin Rouge is a huge selling point so it makes sense to embrace it.
