I heard the pre-Broadway revival of B&TB is happening at Papermill. No Newsies though.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I think instead of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST or NEWSIES, it's gonna be a Disney revue. I doubt they would do two Disney musicals in one season.

It would be interesting if they helped launch the tour of Beauty and the Beast considering they presented their own production in 2019. Gavin Lee played Lumiere and he went on to play the part in the UK tour in 2021; curious if he’d play the part again.

From Playbill:

• Jersey Boys. Paper Mill will be the first New Jersey theatre to originate a production of the biomusical featuring the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The production will be presented October 2–November 3.
• Irving Berlin's White Christmas will usher in the holiday season, running November 27–December 29. The stage production is based on the classic 1954 film of the same name. 
• The new year will see the new musical Mystic Pizza. Paper Mill favorites Sandy Rustin and Casey Hushion are collaborating on the piece with Rustin writing the book and Hushion directing. The musical features a score of '80s and '90s pop hits originally recorded by Cyndi Lauper, John Cougar Mellencamp, Wilson Phillips, The Bangles, Belinda Carlisle, Huey Lewis and the News, Debbie Gibson, and Bryan Adams, among many others. Connor Gallagher will choreograph. Mystic Pizza runs January 29–February 23, 2025.
• In the spring, Paper Mill will present the world premiere of Take the Lead. Based on the 2006 film starring Antonio Banderas, Take the Lead tells the true story of Pierre Dulaine, who brought ballroom dance into New York City schools. Blending ballroom and hip-hop dance and music, the new musical will feature direction by Christopher Gattelli and choreography by Gattelli with Jennifer Weber and Maria Torres. The score is by Elliah Heifetz and Zeniba Now, and the book is by Robert Cary and Jonathan Tolins. Music production is by !llmind. Take the Lead will run March 29–April 27.
• The season will conclude with the Disney favorite The Little Mermaid, featuring a score with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater. The Little Mermaid will run May 29–June 29.

The Beauty and the Beast rose seems like a huge bait and switch now, but I'm excited about Little Mermaid (which is one of my favorite Disney movies but I've never seen it on stage), and I'm curious about both Mystic Pizza and Take the Lead.  I love Jersey Boys too, but it seems fairly soon considering it was just off Broadway, though I wonder if they'll take a significantly different approach to it.

Pretty much sounds like an average Regional Theatre season to me. In my local area, the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster is expected to announce a "Blockbuster" season in May. 

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

Yeah it’s all jukebox and Disney stuff.  They did a very good production of the little mermaid a decade ago. The only one that’s interesting is the Chris Gattelli dance musical.

Not the most thrilling slate but hoping to be pleasantly surprised.  Can anyone comment on how the Take the Lead movie seems as source material for a musical?  I haven't seen it and it sounds kind of formulaic, but I'm most intrigued by that one and would love to be wowed by some impressive choreography at the very least.

Papermill is just across the river from New York.  They won't do a show that flopped so recently.  Anyone who had wanted to see it would have seen it. 

But out in the boondocks where people don't know what a turd it is, it will continue to pop up.

The only person who writes worse shows than David Malloy is Joe Iconis.

From what I remember, it has that Dangerous Minds/Sister Act 2 energy. There are subplots with the students but the focus is more on the teacher and the students as a collective.

There were hit productions in San Fran and Toronto. I don’t think that show would fit Papermill’s vibe. They don’t really do artsy.
