In about a month I'll be in NYC and have narrowed my list of musicals to see down to these:
-Spelling Bee
-Avenue Q
-Color Purple
-DRS
-Drowsy
-Jersey Boys
-Sweeny
-Tarzan
-Wedding Singer
Other musicals and plays not on the list, I have already seen or have no interest in seeing.
Can you all recommend which shows out of that list I should see. I'm looking at trying to see atleast 5 of them. So far Jersey Boys is my only 'must-see'.
My other 'dilema' is that I think Q and Spelling Bee go hand-in-hand. You see one or the other (when you only have limited time). I REALLY want to see Q because I have wanted to for a long time but I MUST see Barrett. (Why couldn't he have stayed in Q for another month!) What should I do?
All your recommendations are appreciated! Thanks!

I know you said you aren`t interested in other shows but I strongly reccomend Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me!

NathanLaneStalker I've already seen Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me in Toronto and thought it was horrible.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions, keep them coming!

The Wedding Singer!
Oh! And go see Brian d'Arcy James in DRS.

When are you going to be there? I'll be at [most of] those shows from July 18-23.
-Avenue Q
-DRS
-Drowsy
-Jersey Boys
-Sweeney/Wedding Singer- I don't know which I'd prefer. Sweeney is so different but Wedding Singer is a whole lot of fun.

I would say to definitely check out SWEENEY TODD, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, AND DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.

I've seen all of those except Sweeney...and they're all amazing. Definately see Drowsy and Color Purple. Most people hate Tarzan but for some reason I'm obsessed...I've seen it 4 times and plan to go a few more times when I have time to go to NYC again...so if you have extra time consider seeing it.

In this order:
Jersey Boys
The Color Purple
Sweeny
Drowsy
Bee (I would have said Q here, but since you specifically mentioned Foa it should be Bee)
If you can not get tix to one of them (read: Jersey Boys), then Q should be the alternate. Then DRS.
ps- I have seen everything on your list except Tarzan, so I did not rank Tarzan on my list anywhere.
In no order, I'd narrow it down to...
Spelling Bee
DRS
Drowsy
Color Purple
Jersey Boys
