RENT bloopers

Let me say I love the movie and some of the best films out there have bloopers. With that being said, during "La Vie Boheme" when Collins & Angel jump up on the bar and Collins writes "Fight Aids" on the chalk board, they do a far away shot really quick and only Angel is up there, then they show them again and Collins is back up there with Angel. I love when I see bloopers!

Anyone else notice any?

They only have two listed on moviemistakes.com so far, the Thelma & Louise one and the blond lady on the subway one. Undoubtedly it will have more as time goes on.

Yes. It starts out as humorous, but now it's a discussion about bloopers, plotholes, etc.

Well who in pluperfect hell wants to drag through pages of nonsense to get to the dish, skittles? This way is much easier.

~ when roger and mimi arrive at the protest roger goes to mimi, "over there the guy with the glasses" [referring to mark]

~ big blooper as mark had already sung the last choruses of "another day" with her on the street along with collins and angel.

I thought that was a bit weird to have them all singing the chorus when technically they don't know each other.

Yes, I absolutely hate the way the second half of "Another Day" is shot.

agreed Munk & iwearshoes...they just like turned the corner and were like "oh crap, I guess I should join in the singing." I didn't like that at all. Darn you Columbus!

rent_fan, the blonde woman moves her seat to the other side of the subway. i noticed it the second time i saw the movie. so, i don't think there is a blooper there.

I thought it was strange that after the power goes out in the beginning, Collins calls like 30 seconds later and the phone rings.

Isn't it a regular phone? if so, it doesn't need electricity to run.

Is the blonde woman on the subway, Alexi's receptionist? It looked like the same actress to me (who was going to play Allison before the role was cut, am I right?).

In I'll Cover You, after Collins and Angel run down the street, when they stop to sing, Collin's coat collar is down. Then there is a shot of them singing (Oh, lover, I'll cover you) and the collar is up. Then the next shot (yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, oh lover...) the collar is back down.
Ditto for the straps on Angel's backack, they move places between shots in that song.

ALso in "I'll Cover You" there is a girl with a hat on walking behind EVERY shot, even after Collins and Angel are running, and at one point she is lip-synching with them!

Really she's lip scynching? Oh my. I took my dad yesterday and he noticed that there was a '97 honda in the background ( I think that is a bit much don't you?) re: RENT bloopers

alright two that I noticed (Because I always notice little things).

1. La Vie Boheme (I think when Collins was introducing Maureen doing "native american tribal chants")- Shot of Collins singing with a joint behind his ear...cut to someone else...cut back to Collins WITHOUT the joint behind his ear (and not in his hand, either)...cut to someone else...cut to Collins again with the joint behind his ear yet again.

2. New Years eve - the countdown outside of that store...theyre all watching the ball drop and counting down with it..only thing is, when the reach 1/Happy New Year!...the ball on the TV is a good 3 seconds from the bottom

Rent takes place 89-90 the movie Thelma & Louise wasn't made till '91. I don't know if that counts though.

This is super nit-picky, and I'm not even sure if it's right - but the last of the graffiti-covered subway cars were pulled in May 1989 so I don't think the trains that they ride would be that covered in paint.

I'm a huge fan of the New York subway system, so I took particular interest in the Sante Fe scene.

Does anyone know where they were riding to/from? I assume Life Support was more uptown or downtown but it seemed like Roger just got up and walked over on a whim - would he have had the $1 availble to spend on the fare?

"agreed Munk & iwearshoes...they just like turned the corner and were like "oh crap, I guess I should join in the singing." I didn't like that at all. Darn you Columbus! "

im pretty sure that what they were going for was that the three of them were signing "no day but today" after leaving the meeting, and when they see mimi and roger fighting the phrase applies to roger so they keep singing. imnot syaign it works, but impretty sure thats what they were goign for, not just oh crap they are signing, lets sing. if they had chaned their tone and inflection and showed a change in facial demeanor it woudl ahve worked better. and im not saying that as a diss to the acting by any means, its just it needed to be reflected more in their demeanor in order for it to work. i like the concept, it just wasnt executed to the degree it should have been.

and about them not knowing each other: collins and mark and angel all know roger. and angel knows mimi, and so does mark. he says "oh the dancer from the cat scratch club" implying he has seen her before.

anyways blooper but not really: the drug dealer already has completed the deal with mimi when he says to roger " you steal my client you die"

i have one! in la vie boheme, in the beginning when the waiter tells them not to move the tables, wilson says "c'mon ROSIE let's move these tables together" instead of Mimi...unless he was talking about one of the random people at the table lol
