"read palms as pants and decided front meant the same thing as down... "
Um....no.
Yes, but anthony never had to deal with misdarned socks. Who knows if he even knows how to darn socks. If not, he should be punished to the afformentioned "CHORUS LINE/BURGER KING" puishment.
P.S. interesting fact - I learned the word "to darn" in Spanish first - and had no idea what "darn" meant until it was explained in Spanish. Sad, because I'm a native English speaker. Or should I say, American speaker?

Actually, 107, this thread was never about the flaws of the film. It was started by someone who rarely posts and who was trying to get a rise out of the fans. And it worked. The film itself has been talked to death.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Who knew skittles could be so funny!
Em, keep doing that and you'll turn into a pancake.
(I am not stopping you. Au contraire, I am egging you on. "Pancake! Pancake! Pancake!")

shameless, I was directly responding to what a poster actually said in this thread (hence the quotes), and I guess I eventually went on a bit of a tangent. And then I just threw in some things responding to bits I'd read ealier in the thread.

At this rate, the thread will never die, and the world will be forever reminded of RENT's shut out at the Golden Globes.
And frankly, I don't think this thread is that nasty or negative. The film got shut out of the Globes. That's a fact. The film is a financial flop. That's a fact too. I realize that news is unpleasant, but people are reacting like their grandmother has been runover by a reindeer...

But what if somebody eats you?

She has not, she has more sense than that.

I hope you all who are trying to just inerject with completely meaningless conversation realize you're being kind of rude and obnoxious. And very childish.
Not to mention...LIKE I said, if you really wanted the thread to die, you'd stop posting in it so it goes directly to the top of the message board where everyone can see it...

"like their grandmother has been runover by a reindeer..."
I think we should start focusing on that instead. It would be much more interesting and would have less cause for argument. Everyone agrees that run over grandmothers are not a pretty site.
Don't mind me I'm on alot of medicine right now.

107 - We don't want it to die.
We just want people to know the truth.
And we want Anthony to respond.
Can he or can he not darn socks?

Thanks...I guess.
WRQ, re-read that last post of yours and tell me what's wrong with that statement.

BWGirl -
Stage and screen affect people differently (not considering the difference between ten years on stage and 1 month on screen). I think this movie could be seen as a success, if nothing else, than with getting the message of RENT across. With the people i have talked with, one actually thinks the movie surpasses the stage version. Two others have been moved enough... inspired enough... to want to see the stage version and to listen to the OBC. And even some not thrilled with the movie are in love with the soundtrack. Either way, the message is getting across.

107, on page 9 of the neverending thread, you asked why we felt the need to keep pushing it off topic, I thought you were saying that your previous post was on topic. So, I was just telling you that the flaws of the film were not the original topic either.
No harm, no foul.
