How do you explain those grosses then?"
I accept the grosses to be what they are. I expect they will be better closer to xmas.
People's opinions are what they are. My sense of dissonance is the huge difference between BWW amateur critics vs the equally amateur public who really enjoyed the show. I look at social media posts and discard the Claymate opinion. These reviews are uniformly negative while the public is positive. Its a puzzle.
Nobody wants to admit they bought a ticket and cheerfully announce that they left mid show. SMH

You really are annoying.

Its not so much that I value them more I believe them more because there's no agenda.
Tonight I saw @clayaiken and @RubenStuddard’s delightful holiday show on Broadway and the biggest Christmas miracle is how, 15 years after IDOL, they still sound just as good. #Claymate#VelvetTeddyBear
And look at this hilarious IDOL-related merch @clayaiken and @RubenStuddard have. You know I live for a pun!
So, I saw the show tonight - albeit with a comp - and actually quite enjoyed myself. Is it a hot mess express? 100%. But I knew that going in, and so did my friends, so we went to happy hour before, had a nice buzz going in, and just laughed through the whole thing. The vocals by the 2 are great - especially the ending - and, yeah, the show is messy and cheesy, but, Clay does say upfront that "Christmas is suppose to be cheesy," so we just kind of went along with it. I do the pair make for a funny duo, but the comedy could use some better timing, etc. The production value was actually pretty decent, and it looks designed to tour, which I'm sure they will do next year. The audience was EATING this up. Not sure how or why, but people were giving standing ovations, etc. So someone's liking it. It's still a hot mess, but if you can get a cheap ticket, I think it's worth it.
it's at least doing better than HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, which never grossed over 100K in any week.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I mean I kind of think so? Tinsel and lights and cheesy Christmas carols. The show isn’t high art but it’s fun and stupid and just what I expected it to be! But it’s def way too long! And feels very American Idol.
You know, I looked up Ruben and Clay on Twitter real fast just to see if all social media posts have been positive as a particular poster wants to say, but there are tons of snarky and negative reviews of that show with some of the more positive ones. So there's no real dissonance here.

You really should have included a link so people can see that you are mistaken to put it politely.
