What a legacy he leaves behind in all his brilliant work. Both he and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were killed by their son, Nick, who is currently missing, What a horrible tragedy.

I am thoroughly disgusted and sickened by Trump's response re: the homicide of Reiner and his wife.

I can’t wait for Trump’s death to be the one being announced.

I prefer he be stripped of his money, possessions, and citizenship. Then be deported to a non-english-speaking prison, with no access to medical care or McDonald's.

I have lost all hope that that man will face any legal consequences for his actions. So now I simply await his death.

I understand. I don't condone it, but certainly do understand it..
If it's any consolation, History has shown that the "worst of the worst" have ended up in a bunker (Hitler), hiding in a hole in the ground (Saddam Hussein), in the act of fleeing (Mussolini), with serious health issues (Stalin) or committed suicide (Goebbels et.al.).
The Universe finds a way...

He succeeded again in upstaging a national tragedy and making it all about himself... or at least he's attempting to do so.

I am so glad I missed this one.

My bad... I should not have steered this thread into Trump territory.
My favorite Reiner films are "Stand By Me", "When Harry Met Sally", and "The Princess Bride". Although I didn't "get" it when the movie first came out, I've really grown to love "This Is Spinal Tap", too
Although I loved his Mike/Meathead character in "All in the Family", my favorite of his acting roles was Sheldon Flender in "Bullets Over Broadway".
Goodness, that man's talent will certainly live on.

Reiner's run of films from 1984 to 1992 is one of the most remarkable hot streaks in the history of American cinema. It is beyond horrifying that his own child may have been the culprit. Prayers to his family, especially his other children.

I had forgotten about this! I loved that character as well. That the same director created WHEN HARRY MET SALLY and MISERY is astounding. What a remarkable loss.

I'd like to extend that to 1995 because The American President is a masterwork, but then we'd have to include North as well...

I'm boycotting the broadcast of The Kennedy Center Honors on the 23rd in the hopes that CBS and Paramount+ will get their lowest viewership ratings ever for the show. Instead, I'm choosing to stream "Bullets Over Broadway" and "This is Spinal Tap".
For anyone else interested in streaming Reiner's movies (regardless of when you watch):
‘This is Spinal Tap,’ ‘The Princess Bride’ and more: Rob Reiner’s best films and where to watch them
The article does not include "Bullets Over Broadway", but for other Flender fans like me and Idiot, it can be streamed on Amazon Prime.

Don't let hate win. He wants that. Thrives on it.
