Oh no! My friend is coming in to town for this!
If someone can't use their tickets for the weekend, let me know! You should rebook and I'll pay you! I really want to see this. PM me to work something out.
They had to cancel DEAD MAN'S CELL PHONE's first preview too (for different reasons though), so I ended up seeing the first preview by mere chance.
I was looking forward to hearing everyone's comments as well.
Well ****.
oh well, sunday matinee it is i suppose.
If someone can't use their tickets for Sunday please PM me! I'm willing to pay more than the $5.
Add me to the list of "if you can't use them let me know!!" :) Thanks!

I'm not going to get to see this show - I am so bummed! Not because of the cancellation tonight, just because there is no way I can get there during the short run.
I hope it comes off well so it will transfer or brought back late summer/fall.
I can't wait to read the reviews! I am "filled with Christ's love"!
Wow, I guess it's a good thing I ended up not winning the lottery and got A Catered Affair tickets instead.
Availability is very limited, rebook now.

I was planning on seeing this Sunday night anyway. Hope it's not too much of a mess. It was the only time I could go in the whole run, unless it extends. But I didn't want to take that chance.
WEll guys, apparently the people at Saved are ****ing liars, because i responded to the intial postponement email within 5 minutes of getting it and I recieved another email informing me that THERE WERE NO TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THE 11TH and that if i still wanted to see the show it would have to be on the 25th and that if that wasn't ok, or if i didn't respond by 5pm i'd recieve a refund. That means they NEVER had any tickets available for the 11th and that their first email was bull****. It seems to me if they didn't want to have peopel actually USE the 5 dollar tickets that they shouldn't have a lottery giving away 5 dollar tickets in the first place.
If that's true, that's ridiculous.
They should ADD a show and let the people with tickets for tonight have first dibs.
They should add a Monday show to make up for the cancellation and to give people who won the tickets fair chance.
I know I already said this, but if there is anyone who has extra tickets to the Sunday evening show please PM me. I'm going home Tuesday afternoon for the summer and won't be able to see the show any other time. I was hoping to get rush Sunday, but because the performance is sold out there isn't any rush.
It's a small theater and there aren't many seats to begin with, so the few available tickets they had probably went really quickly. And at least you have the opportunity to see it on the 25th. I still think it's good of them to sell the $5 tickets.
here's my response email
Well, considering how quickly I responded to the initial email it would seem there were never any tickets available for the 11th for rescheduling which is interesting since that was the date being offered in the email. That leaves me with no choice but to accept to reschedule again for May 25th at 2:30.
and heres they're "explanation."
It's not just LIVEforFIVE people that have had their tix cancelled for tonight but many subscribers and full priced ticket buyers. Based on the fact that the only shows with availability this weekend were on the 11th, the tickets went very quickly.
Apparently they would like me to believe that they had NO CLUE that they didn't have enough tickets this sunday to accomodate people that were supposed to be at tonight's show AND that in the short time between me getting the initial email and responding that ALL the tickets from sunday were taken.
I'm not sure i would seek out shows at Playwrights in the future after this.
Pending ticket availability, you may re-book your LIVEforFIVE seats for this Sunday (May 11, 2008 ) ONLY for either the matinee (2:30pm) or evening (7:30pm) performance.
How hard is that to understand? As someone said above, the theater is incredibly small. THEN take into account that as this is the first preview weekend, the remaining performances were probably close to sold out to begin with. I don't think they were trying to deceive you in any way, they just have a lot of people to try to reschedule/rearrange tickets for - and certainly more people in need of seats than seats available.
Would it really have been out of the question for them KNOWING FULL WELL THEY COULD NOT ACCOMMODATE EVERYONE on the 11th to give people more to choose from than the just the 11th? Honestly, i've now MADE and CANCELLED plans twice for this weekend, but clearly having tickets only valued at $5 dollars that doesn't concern them that much. They'd probably like it if I were to take the refund and allow them to resell my seats at full price.

And on top of that, there were people like me who had bought full priced tickets for the 1st preview and ended up buying the sunday tickets because that's the next time they could go. Playwrights Horizons aren't trying to deceive you. Your tickets were $5. Try getting tickets for that price for ANY OTHER SHOW, especially ones selling well.

Wow, looking a gift-horse in the mouth much Liverpool?
They could have just refunded everyone but instead we got the oppertunity to rebook, taking away more full priced tickets from potential buyers...
Try being grateful
In any case, I rebooked for the 25th...
