I felt that she was (vocally) the only redeeming value in the film version of Les Miserables.

With the original leads leaving in February, I wonder if we could possibly hope for a limited run with Samantha prior to her opening the show in London. Maybe they might use that as an opportunity for her to get her feet wet in the role

Not yet. I would imagine they are waiting to make the new casting announcement first. Kristen Anderson-Lopez has also been adamant that the new song is only for the tour.

It’s not like either show is good.... Though, pretty woman seems to be just filler over there as the theatre it’s going into already has a show lined up after pretty woman so it’s presence won’t be as big as Frozens. Side note, I would’ve been interested by her taking on Satine in Moulin Rouge...

I talked to one of the video crew members while they were teching in Schenectady and he said he was going down to the city to make some changes to the Broadway show (I imagine very small changes if they were happening in a day). He also mentioned something about the new song but I can't quite remember if he meant they were keeping it for upcoming productions or adding it to the Broadway show (I believe they are adding it to Broadway but don't quote me on it)

She would be an incredible Satine.

Depends if the London theatre has a trap door. The staircase was added because some/most touring theatres don't have trap doors like the St. James does.

Asking as someone who hasn't seen this on tour (and probably won't since I've already seen this on Broadway). What staircase?
The tour production added a physical staircase in order to pull off the the dress reveal during let it go. I believe in the broadway production the staircase is just a projection on the back scrim.

I admittedly jump on and off this board , so I’ve lost track- I had no idea “Frozen” was even a topic of conversation. That mindless, empty show was an abysmal retelling of a fantastic movie.
I am so can’t believe SB would be a third replacement (almost 4) of such nonsense.
There seems to be a better response to this casting here than the uk theatreboards! I’ve personally always found Sam Barks to be a bit overrated so this isn’t the most enthralling casting news for me. Be interested to see how she vocally handles “Let It Go” - she has a lovely voice but I’ve never thought it particularly powerful. Although I think it’s a song that requires more controlled singing than anything!
