Shows that were panned but you loved

How about a turnaround on the "hate" issue? Name some shows that the critics didn't like that you did??

Lennon. Didn't love it, but I did like it a lot.

Didn't get to see Woman in White, but I agree on the Lennon show. I thought it was very ambitious and creative and didn't get a fair shake.

I love Little Women, too. And I really enjoy Once Upon a Mattress, even though I never got the chance to see it.

Jekyll and Hyde
The Pirate Queen
Little Women
Woman in White
Aida

And finally I still loved bits of "Lestat." Some of my favorite actors were in the show. The costume's were beautiful and a small handful of the songs were actually quite good. Although the lyrics blew.

Wasn't Chita Rivera: A Dancers Life mostly panned? Because I LOVED that show.

- Most critics were kind to it. But fans (and critics) found flaws with the book and structure of the show. Otherwise all agreed Chita and her performance was sensational as always. She received a Tony nom. for her performance.

The Wedding Singer

Sue me Sideways, but I thought this show was so good. I like it 10 times better than Legally Blonde. I was forced to see it with friends after loosing a bet and was presently surprised. I found the comedy to be quite clever, and I also learned not to judge shows before seeing them.

Going to a musical late in its run is like going to a prostitute late in her shift.
