I teach about the Holocaust for a living, and in my years of doing that I have seen a lot of misguided attempts at satire, to the point where I thought nothing left on earth could shock me.

This managed to do it. Absolute despicable to use the visuals they did in a marketing stunt, let alone the text they added to it.

I haven’t seen the show and have waffled based on probably some of the most polarizing reception from friends of mine (like, “I walked out after 10 minutes” to “This is a master class in satire”). I also don’t have a viewpoint either direction with what is going on over in the Middle East since it’s out of my locus of control and shouting on the internet will not make me feel any better or worse. 

That being said, holy s#1+. Regardless of context, this is absolutely abhorrent and needs some kind of severe accountability. (Example ahead) It would be like if, after 9/11, “The Producers” marketed themselves with “See? The Nazis don’t seem so bad now, do they?”

I go to service every Saturday morning. I study Torah. I am very active in my community and the members of my shul regularly condemn them. We pray for innocent Palestinians every week. 
 

there are bad people in all groups. We don't have to let them control the narrative though.

They do control the narrative though. And you should denounce them publicly, not just in your prayer group. People like Laura Loomer and Stephen Miller who have enormous power in Trumps administration put in danger the lives of all Americans and immigrants who are not white. They don't hide it and they openly call for deportationsand extermination of people they no longer want in this country. I'm chronically online and I've yet to see condemnation.

The shows writer Andrew Fox doubling down with "anyone who thinks I am anti-semetic is stupid, I made jokes right after a different shooting happened too" in his Instagram stories in the middle of the night is certainly a choice.

To suggest the Jewish narrative is controlled by Loomer and Miller is absurd. You clearly don't follow many Jewish orgs on social media. There is a great deal of condemnation from Jewish leaders around the world. My Rabbi's sermons condemning current immigration policies have gone viral. 
 

You do not have the authority with which you speak. And your assertions are offensive.

Many of us screamed about horrors of October 7th and supported Jewish people very vocally, marched with them too. Sometimes at the expense of friendships and relationships. Your empty accusations are no longer valid.

And many of us condemn Miller and Loomer regularly. Don't make generalizations and suggest the diaspora is quiet when you don't want them made about the parts of the left that have denied the atrocities of Oct 7.

I really don't agree with Seth's characterization here. Antisemitism is clearly a problem, as this tragedy has demonstrated, but to paint the discourse in these one-sided terms is ignorant and so obviously untenable in the light of UN bodies, international human rights organizations, and even dissent within Israel against their government's actions. 

This kind of rhetoric, as well as the tasteless IG post that the Slam Frank team posted, is just another example of the left cannibalizing itself and will just perpetuate the very problems we're all trying to solve.

This is absolutely more offensive and plainly antisemitic that the nonsense posted by Slam Frank. 

I dont think any demographic groups vote more reliably against Trumpism than Black women and Jews, and even if they didnt, the suggestion that "more need to speak up" is not something youd ever ever hurl at any other minority, each and every which one having plenty of Trumpists amongst them. Shameful.

It’s a very troubling moment but one thing could make it better, if all parties denounced extra-judicial kidnappings and killings, particularly of civilians.

I think others have already pointed out the hollowness of your points. Calling out anti-semitism isn’t contingent on Jews criticizing fascists who happen to be Jewish.  I’ve marched against fascists and right wing extremism for decades including against Trumpism over the past 12 years.

Please trust me when I say there are many, many of us who do speak up against the openly racist and facist out there. They do not represent many of us. What I wish is that people would stop hating on me simply because I am Jewish and actually ask me my thoughts on everything. They might be surprised that my view isn't simply black or white.  Back to Broadwayworld appropriate content...What is black and white is that we should all condemn a Broadway company that uses their platform to further the hate, even in the name of satire/art.

"Funded by Russia and Iran"?  No, it isn't and this post is deranged.  The equating of anti-semitism and anti-Zionism, coupled with the genocide in Gaza is what is fueling anti-semitism across the globe, not to mention the impetus for people like Bari Weiss to be promoted into the public sphere.  Seth needs to stick to kissing celebrities asses and stop using a tragedy like Bondi Beach to promote blatant falsehoods.
