Ugh, i finally watched all those episodes and wow...just awful. I mean I like musical theater, i like seeing broadway people in those episodes but wow its bad. by the third one i felt more like the girl in Clock work Orange with my eyes being forced open to watch it just for the sheer "its my duty to watch" like I owed them something to try and keep it on the air but sweet Mary ..
it will get cancelled soon anyway. They lost what..35% of their viewing audience since the pilot? Actually almost half..i read that it started at 14 million people and dropped to 10 million by the end of the pilot episode..NOw only 8 million are watching? Thats like the numbers of USA's ROYAL PAINS. This is DOA.
ah well NBC maybe now you can put COMMUNITY back on the air. you remember that show with a the brilliant writing, fun characters and ratings that were almost the same as SMASH but doesn't cost 4 million bucks to make ONE show?
I haven't seen "Smash," but you should re-watch "A Clockwork Orange."
NBC is already putting COMMUNITY back on the air March 15th, 8pm.
It's interesting to see that Downton Abbey's numbers have done the exact opposite. They have gone up 28 percent from the Season 2 opener to the finale.
While I'm waiting for the next episode to decide (I've cared for each one less then the one before it); I'm not sure why we need a new thread for this.
Every time I'm on Facebook, someone is talking about Downton Abbey. Nobody mentions Smash or Glee.
That says more about the intellectual quality of your Facebook friends.
Sadly, I think SMASH is quickly fizzling. ALL of my friends who loved the Pilot and the 2nd episode totally lost interest in the series after the bland 3rd episode. I don't think they're going to be watching the series anymore, sadly. Judging by the substantial drop in viewers, this seems to also be the consensus with the general American public who LOVED the Pilot episode.
Oh, well. I think NBC will air everything they've shot and put it quickly to rest after its first (and only) season.
The only fault I find in Smash is the random musical numbers.
The only songs in the series should be the Marilyn songs.
Other than that, I think it's great.
So tell me, What's so bad about Smash?
"So tell me, What's so bad about Smash?
Katherine McPhee!!! She's so boring. Can sing, but can't act at all.
The writing is poor, the songs aren't great, and they have used every musical theater behind the scenes cliche! I wanted to love this show; but after this last episode, I don't know that I'll be watching again.
The only thing that could keep me interested is the wonderful Angelica Houston.

well the lines they have to utter are horrendous.
the silly story line of the assistant being a creepy person who won't be fired because he has a crush on him but OH MY GOD HE IS STRAIGHT! i am pretty sure that if John Kander didn't like Fred Ebb's ASSISTANT he might be fired on the spot. just maybe. I dunno.
oh the girl sleeps with the director and then realizes that maybe he isn't in love with her. i think i saw that on center stage ..right? did she sleep with the choreographer and then he didn't like her? Its all the same plots rehashed into a horrible script, bad acting and worse directing. It makes me sad because now the country will look at the industry as even more trite and nerdy then they did prior to smash. thanks NBC.
the plot is pathetic and trite and boring. And apparently I am not the only one who thinks so as the viewership has dwindled 40% since its inception. I wonder if NBC will move them to a different time slot thats not so coveted by the VOICE helping it out. can you imagine what their numbers would be if the voice wasn't preceding it? awful.

The only way this turkey is going to get interesting is if they bring in a Julie Taymor character. See I think they started too far back by doing a workshop. They should have started with the audition process and then went on from there. Can you imagine if the Marilyn rehearsal process was as interesting as "Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark"?

Any show that features musical numbers has to get savaged by this board. I don't know why. I think self-loathing is involved but I'm not a doctor.
"Why don't JC and Mysterio go on facebook and hash out there sexual tension there. BYE"
I lol'd.
So their.
well, Variety reports this week that the show has dropped drastically in ratings once again this week. As Variety puts it:
"Smash saw its most troubling decline in the second half-hour to date, dropping 26% from a 2.7 rating at 10 p.m. to a 2.0 at 10:30."
So, soon you might not have this show to whine and complain about any more and you can go back to your old habits, like bitching about sippy cups in theatres, and lamenting the closing of FOLLIES.

That's just ridiculous.
Why do we need Facebook for that? Skype is a much more effective way of "hashing it out" together.
And what's with the assumtion that we haven't already slept together?
Rude.
Seriously. And you know what happens when you assume.
Yeah. Jesus Christ and Mysterio apparently go make hash out of each other's asses on Facebook.
