I just got back from the Bee too! Great show tonight! Plus my friend Mel won Leaf Coneybear's number card! I also confirmed that it does end on Easter exactly.

Oh, and I asked Jared Gerter about whether or not the SF cast is going to be the tour cast. He said he hadn't heard anything about it really, but that they'll probably be in SF til at least August so it sounds doubtful to me.

Thanks for the new info!! The NYC production was great tonight, as always. Willis was on as Chip, he's improved a lot in the role since I last saw him. Jesse forgot his helmet, so he did the show without it, which was interesting (but still very funny).

I'm excited for the macy's event tomorrow to hear them sing Why We Like Spelling, it's fun to see the song performed since it's not in the show and I don't see it often. I think this will be my 3rd time ever seeing it.

Right, Broadway on Broadway, and on tv for Thanksgiving. I guess that doesn't count as live though, so this will be my 2nd time!

I taped it, but have no idea where the tape is. I think it is actually at my parents' house in california, because I was there for thanksgiving. But I bet they taped over it by now.

Hey!

I just wanted to let all the Spelling Bee fans know that yesterday my high school took all of the kids involved in the music department of our school (band and chorus) to go see Spelling Bee. Everyone LOVED it! Most of the kids had never been to a Broadway show before, so most of the kids were under the misconception that all Broadway shows were stuffy and boring. This show definitely altered their perception of a typical Broadway musical! So many kids wanted to go buy the cast recording afterwards and were asking about what other great shows there are on Broadway to see.

I just wanted to share that our school had an amazing time, the cast was hilarious, the show was amazing, and the show also sparked an interest in a lot of the kids to see and learn about more Broadway shows.

And one more thing: I had heard so much about how funny this show was that I was afraid it wouldn't be able to live up to its hype. Let me assure you, the show and the cast DID NOT disappoint!

The Bee cast was great at the Macy's Pet-Tacular!

liotte- lol......no, we weren't the ones doing the wave. I think there must have been another school group there because our group was spread out around the entire theater.

I went back again tonight and asked about an Adult's only show. Jared said he's not sure but that if they do end up doing one it'll probably be if the show's still around this fall.

Also, I got a pic with Aaron (Chip) in costume tonight!

Meredith, do you not get carsick?! The one time I was in a car (albeit not driving) to your area, I got carsick, and I'm rarely carsick. I can only imagine going back and forth from Ukiah to SF as often as you do.

Oh, I'm not the Ukiah one, hehe. I live here in the city. Mel (5 time Bee gal) and Sandi (2 times) are the Ukiah gals.

I haven't been here in awhile. Work is way too busy. Meredith, you said that it looks like the Bee will be in SF until August. That's so great. I won't be able to get down there until summer and I was hoping it would still be there. How have the crowds been? Is it usually pretty full? Should we probably buy tickets ahead of time?

Generally, it's been pretty full. I'd say that you'll probably be okay if you get there an hour early for rush tickets, unless you wanted better seats. If you're going on a weekend, you should probably get tickets ahead of time.

I don't think the NYC one is doing any more until fall either.

I saw Spelling Bee this past Saturday night and I was amazed! I loved the show so much- My friend was chosen as one of the audience spellers so that made it very entertaining for me and the others who saw it. EVeryone was brilliently funny and had amazing voices. Good Bee! I love spelling!

Me too! I really hope they're still around this fall. Not only for that, but then they'd probably do Why We Like Spelling at the Thanksgiving Parade here.
