So I just found this site after trying to find more information about "Spelling Bee"
I just saw it over the weekend here in Atlanta and OH MY GOD it is soooooo funny and not only funny - smart.
I remember seeing it on the Tony's a last year and when I saw that is was coming here I had to see it. I was NOT disappointed.
This cast is FANTASTIC. I never laughed so hard in my life. The words and definitions were so great and the music was funny and touching at the same time...I know I feel like I am saying what you guys have all said in this past thread but I am new to this.
I cant image how great the other casts are...this one was spot on. I hope they do well in other cities. Thanks for sending it to ATL.
I am putting this on antoehr thread - I would love to see what other people think about the Tour cast. I have offically joined the realm of Spelling Bee Love.

Liotte-
Do you know how long Barrett is contracted with Spelling Bee. I will hopefully be up there in December, and I really really want to see him in the show. Thanks.

Posted: 9/9/06 at 7:07pmI got a letter from Barrett Foa in the mail today, and in it he said that he would be staying with Spelling Bee until April. So while that answers my question, I also thought I would share it here. And I just found out that I will be in NYC in October so I will see Barrett and the Bee. I am so excited! Yay!

Barrett doesn't seem to like to be in shows that long.
April really isn't that far away seeing that he just started a couple months ago.
I wonder what he's going to do next...

Posted: 9/10/06 at 1:08amWell, April would be like 9 months, which is not really that short of a run. Plus, he was at Avenue Q for like a year and a half. So I would consider both of those runs reasonably lengthy. Anyway, he could extend past April - we can always hope...

I don't think 9 months is really that long of a time considering what other actors have done in shows.
I don't know what he wrote exactly in the letter but if he wrote exactly what you said:
"I got a letter from Barrett Foa in the mail today, and in it he said that he would be staying with Spelling Bee until April.
...it sounds as if he is planning to leave in April.
Who knows...we shall see...

Posted: 9/10/06 at 10:32pmAudience was totally on crack tonight at Bee. It was quite fun, lots of energy, but they were calling out during the show, one woman laughed so hard and loud it cracked up the cast and they stopped the show for a few moments, the first two spellers got their words so incredibly wrong- (indigent- eneog9 I think is what she said), just weird. But fun for me to see.

Haha, I saw this on today's NYT. It's a parody of ACL. They even imitate the ACL logo font. I like the way Willam and Olive are in the spot for Al and Christine.

Speaking of Barrett...
I saw Bee for the 9th time last night...haven't seen it since April. This was my first time seeing Barrett, and I loved him!
This is my favorite Bee stagedoor picture ever:

Oh my god. That ACL/Spelling Bee ad was perfect. Points scored for whoever thought of that idea.
Seriously, can anyone get a bigger version of it? I want to print it out and add to one of my collages.
