Michael Cerveris has never missed a scheduled performance in his professional career.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
Al Pacino did not miss one performance of Merchant. And since this is about stars, I shant mention all the chorus folk who, because of a hang nail call out.oops!
As someone on a previous thread stated, Marian Seldes never missed a performance of DEATHTRAP, meaning that she was in 1799 consecutive performances...still a record.
Harvey Fierstein rarely misses and is known to admonish castmates for taking personal days.
Bernadette Peters never missed a performance of NIGHT MUSIC.
Sean Hayes only missed a handful of performances in PROMISES PROMISES, very late in the run. He said that his goal was to perform the entire run without missing a show, and he came very close to that goal.
Alice Ripley was known early in her career for never missing performances. That seems to have changed due to the vocal demands of NEXT TO NORMAL.
Similarly, Laura Benanti was known for poor attendance early in her career, but now she seems to have an excellent track record of late.
People who have been known to have attendance problems: Fantasia Barrino Emily Skinner LaChanze Chad Kimball Katie Rose Clarke

Jonathan Groff had an excellent attendance rate -- although did take a loa to film a pilot.
The entire orgiginal cast of N2N was extremely commendable.
Dan Radcliffe has been outstanding in both his shows on b'way (no missed performances yet, to the best of my knowledge, anyway.)
Fairly certain that Lupone is also credited with a great run in Gypsy.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I'm thrilled that Laura Benanti has been able to climb out of all that crap people were posting about her, not knowing what she was going through.
She's had excellent attendance in both GYPSY & WOMEN ON THE VERGE now that she's had surgery.
"Oh look at the time, three more intelligent plays just closed and THE ADDAMS FAMILY made another million dollars" -Jackie Hoffman, Broadway.com Audience Awards
I don't think Brooke Shields missed any shows either.
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".
-Felicia Finley-
Didn't Catherine Zeta-Jones only miss performances during those two weeks prior to the Tony's when she was quite sick?

Karen No-Sho-livo missed a lot of In The Heights performances and many a West Side Story. I know-I tried to see her 3 times in each.
Tasia was a no-show cautionary tale. She'll never work again on Broadway.
Christine Eberosle and Chita Rivera even perform when under the weather. They never miss shows aside from scheduled vacations.
It seems like the "old school" performers go one come hell or high water. Its the young ones that feel entitled to sit it out if they are not up to it.
People made fun of LuPone and the isotoners during Gypsy, but that is a trooper. She knows people are there to see her and by God, she's going on. That is a pro.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
I think Gerard Canonico and Brian Charles Johnson each went on once while understudying JGJ. However, he did miss a few shows here and there in American Idiot (Van was on a bunch of times).
I don't think Sutton Foster has missed a performance yet of Anything Goes but that was not the case with Shrek. I think at the end of her run she was only doing 6 prefs a week.
I remember Alice Ripley saying that throughout her entire run of Next to Normal she did 96% of the performances. Of course, thats not the case anymore...

Was that a contract stipulation, though? Because that's not really the same as missing 2 shows a week.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.
