I saw the show again today!!
First time seeing it with Gavin. All I can say is... GAH.
It was magical before and I love Jay a ton, but something just clicks when Gavin is there. It was sooooo incredible!
His voice is pretty much one of the most insanely gorgeous voices ever, he and Will have THE most amazing chemistry together (seriously, every scene they had together I could not take my eyes off them <3), and just... Gavin is amazing, the entire show is amazing. And it is just LOVEEEE all around!
Oh and I'd also just like to say that the show hit me really hard today. The entire second act (but especially Let The Sun Shine, obviously) is truly, truly gut wrenching. And yet.. so high energy and full of life, but gut wrenching.

*sigh* Those boys are toooo purtyfull <33
(just had to post cause they really are gorgeous- the pictures AND the men in them. hehe)
Can I just say I need/want/must have the OBCR YESTERDAY???
I won't lie....I really liked Groff. But Gavin erases the memory pretty completely. So much more depth, compassion and subtlty (sp?)
I was one that was worried the the Park played an important part in the success of the production and that it would be lost. Quite the contrary. Somehow it was more persoanl overall in the Hirschfeld.
Can't wait to see it again. Front row is waiting for me in Auguat!!!!
I didn't like Groff (as many did) I thought he lacked those qualities you list: depth subtlety and compassion. I also feel that Creel makes a better connection with Berger. I really felt the love triangle between Sheila, Berger and Claude, something Groff attempted but, for me, never achieved.
Berger's reactions and interactions with Creel's Claude in Yippee continuing through Good Morning Starshine had me in tears the last couple times I saw it.

I'm gonna back up the Gavin love.
I didn't see it with Groff (whom I adore), but I did see it way Jay, who was lovely. But even though Jay was awesome and adorable, Gavin just REALLY adds something to the character. Like I mentioned before, he has the most incredible chemistry with Will (yes, especially in the end omg- SO gut wrenching), and just.. everything he does is so spot on. Especially the whole second act, I'm not even sure what it is that makes him so good, but it's just the most heartbreaking thing ever to watch him.
I was just amazed, because he acted the part better than I even really thought the part COULD be acted!
And obviously his voice is heaven on Earth, but that was a given :)
Just fyi- standing room is pretty great. I'm not even going to bother trying lottery anymore. Just get to the box office when it opens on a day that's likely to be sold out (weekends are a safe bet). $25, Orchestra quality view, lots of interaction.
Though when a friend and I did it, we ended up standing next to two rather obsessed fangirls. Hooray.
I hate fangirls. Of any show. And, sad to admit, I think Hair is going to be a mess with them come the summer -- it's going to be ugly.
cast recording will be on itunes on May 26th!

Saw the show last night...great as always. I am not sure if it was b/c the nominations just came out, but the cast was very silly. Alot of ad libbing in places I have never heard before and some out of character moments. Very random performance, but I loved it. Also Tom Brokaw was there and Joey McIntyre was a couple of rows back in the orchestra. I don't know what Joey did, but Andrew Kober could not keep it together during "My Conviction." as well as the rest of the cast. He blamed it on Joey at stage door.
I cannot wait for this recording!
yay! may 25th at 11:59 i will be checking over and over again lol. and i agree about the fangirls...i usually don't become one(also because i am a boy) but if i annoy you at the show i'm sorry i enjoy the show way too much lol. say it with me now..I AM A HAIR FANGIRL AND I AM PROUD! haha i'm going front row to the matinee this saturday! so pumped!
