Yes, Briana Carlson-Goodman was on as Crissy on the 5th. While I still prefer Allison Case in the role, Briana was still very good and had a very nice Frank Mills. Josh Lamon was also on in the Hubert/Principal track.
Right, I was surprised to see Briana was on as Crissy instead of Kaitlyn, but Kaitlyn was apparently out the next day, so perhaps she wasn't feeling well enough to do the show as Crissy. I know there's been a stomach virus or something going through the cast.
I've been lucky enough to also see Jackie as Sheila, and some of the swings in ensemble tracks. And Nicole and Saycon splitting Dionne's track back in the park.
I really, really liked Jackie. She had a great Easy to Be Hard and Good Morning Starshine. A little angrier than Caissie's Sheila, but it was nice seeing a different interpretation. She messed up one line, saying "...crazy, you're so crazy, I adore you," prompting Will to say "What's my name?" Briana was on in her tribe track.
POSSIBLE SPOILER Bernard Purdie was also out, the first time they've had a sub drummer, and the sub kinda messed up the Ain't Got No Reprise. He hit the drum for the gunshot after the first time Gavin sang "Ain't got no," which kinda ruined the surprise/suspense of the moment.
Purdie's sub must not have been paying a bit of attention to Nadia... She makes it pretty idiot-proof where the shots should go. She literally makes a gun with her hand and thrusts it forward. Just one of those little details you pick up on when you've seen the show 12 times...
It was actually that Nadia picked up her hand to prepare to give the gun motion, and he took her hand going up as the signal to go, instead of waiting for the actual gun signal. No, I wasn't watching the band waiting for him to mess up...
Okay, I saw this show for the first time this past weekend and I LOVED it! I am not the kind of person who usually sees shows on Broadway multiple times (as I have to travel up from DC for the privilege) but I cannot wait to go see it again!
If people have split views about your work, I think it's flattering. I'd rather have them feel something about it than dismiss it.

Just wondering if anyone's planning on attending the Marriage Equality Rally on Sunday? Gavin's hosting and the cast of HAIR is performing (along with a bunch of really awesome performers!)
For those of you who don't know, it's Sunday, May 17th (THIS SUNDAY!) at 46th and 6th from 5PM - 7PM.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I actually am going to be in the city that day. Maybe I will check it out.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.
"Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."
I was reading this new york guide and read about broadway theaters and it said to avoid side seats at the Al Hirschfeld. Is this true? I bought front row orchestra right tickets to see it and am wondering if these will be good? I was very excited but am wondering if there will be a poor view now?
No, I sat on the far left(front row) and far right(row P). You are sitting in the front row, and all of front row is fantastic even on the sides. The only thing you will miss is the activity in the box above you, but that is no big deal.
I was perfectly content with side seats. Mine were actually partial view seats to boot in row J or so (on the right), and I loved it. Being close to the aisle rocks at this show.
Honestly this theatre isn't big enough to really have any terrible seats.
So I maaay or may not have been listening to the Hair radio ALL freaking day. Woops :P
But seriously, the recording is AMAZING <3 So freaking good. And once again I am reminded how much I am in love with Gavin's voice. ug.
I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
