saw the show again today from standing room(which is really great, lots of cast interaction)..jay johnson was on again as claude and i'm really warming up to him...as much as i hope the day never comes i hope he takes over for gavin once he leaves. and the box office opens at 12 on sundays unlike the website says. its a good thing i went early tho the line for standing room got filled kinda quick. some people were waiting in line for lottery tho which was weird.

Won lotto today and saw the show for the first time.
It was incredible! Saycon Sengbloh was on as Dionne and Nicole Lewis was Abraham Lincoln (Creel was in)
Overall, I thought the show was brilliant. The cast is the best cast I have seen on a stage. they have so much passion and amazing interactions with each other and the audience.
I saw both West Side Story and Hair this week and my vote for Best Revival goes to Hair simply because the cast is much stronger overall. They make the show real and make it a better experience.
I can't even pick out a standout performer, as they were all great. Swenson, Creel, Sengbloh, Case, Levy, Ryness were all fantastic as were all the tribe members.
Incredible, incredible day on Broadway! Updated On: 4/19/09 at 06:49 PM
Does anyone know if they will release this revised script to perform. I was reading through the script Tams-Whitmark has and find I like the broadway revival better. I mean there is only a couple big changes and all the other changes are small but I still like the current version better?
There is never any locked revised script, nor has there ever been one in HAIR's history. Jim Rado has incessantly revised the script since its earliest days, and as far as I know, he continues to do so. No doubt this version is currently frozen for the Broadway revival, but when that's over, Lord knows he'll be working with whoever. Add the minor changes to the current Tams-Witmark script, and ignore the deletions, and basically you've got the current revised copy.

Hair doesn't start doing Wednesday matinees until June. It currently does a Sunday night show instead.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I sat literally the seat right behind John Stamos today at HAIR. It was really exciting. Show was great! It just keeps on getting better. This is my third time seeing it this month. Today in the intro to "Hair" when Claude is like "He asked me why I'm such a hairy guy" Will popped his head out from under Kacie's dress and when gavin saw him he literally stopped singing and started cracking up. Very funny. A lot of new improv stuff today. Cast was in a funny mood. Can't wait to see it again!

He has always done that."
Hmmm, Sorry about that. Something was really different about it though. Gavin and the whole cast (when their backs were turned) started to crack up.
Singer, you're right. Today was different (I've seen it a few times)--he actually broke for a few seconds cause he couldn't help from cracking up. Very cute :)
SGV....YES, I saw it on the 18th. Was molested properly by many and loved the show immensely. Quite moving as well.
Why do I sob at something I know is about to happen. As soon as the flag hit the ground I lost it. I cried often and profusely.
Love all around!

Glad you liked it. I had a great time in that seat as well! Did you have a Kaitlin hanging off the edge of the stage right in your face in the second act? I have cried every time at the end as well. Can't wait to see it again!
I have front row again for August...but on House right. I doubt I will make it that long without seeing it again.
I'm afraid I dont' know all the tribe members by name. And I wish I did, there are definitely some that stood out beautifully.
I did play a pretty long game of handsies with one of the tribe members near the begining of Act II. I couldn't keep track with all the direct interactions. I was quite jealous however of the man next to me watching Gavin stroke his legs!

Kaitlin is the the black boys trio, long black hair with flowers in her hair.During the trip scene in act 2, she hung off the edge of the stage about a foot from my face and she was just playing with her hands. I could not help but laugh. My hair got messed up during "Hair." Very memorable!
PS- I am also jealous of the man that was next to you!
no chita i was there today and today it was different...he always comes out through someone's dress(idk who) but his head got stuck on her dress, it was quite funny actually. and yes today there was alot of funny improv, like woof's intro was also differnt. i saw john stamos on stage after the show taking pics w/ the tribe im sure bww will post that. as for me, hair, next to normal front row, and the beautiful weather this was a great day :]

Yes, then, that's who I played "handsies" with. I want to go back.

I went again last night, and loved it just as much.
But it was a very special performance -- many of the original cast members of Hair were there, all wearing white flowers, in about the 3rd and 4th rows, I think. I didn't recognize too many except Ben Vereen. But it was so much fun dancing up there with them, and after giving the BCEFA speech, Gavin introduced James Rado on the stage, and we all cheered. A very special night and performance.
And so happy Will Swenson got the Drama Desk nomination!

Everyone's been saying so many lovely things about the performances, and reading this thread makes me even more excited to see it.
saw the show again today from standing room(which is really great, lots of cast interaction).. When I was in the city yesterday, a girl told me that this was a really good option. Not to mention it's less expensive.
