TURN ON GMA RIGHT NOW!
Eta: It's over now. The cast of Hair performed I'll be there as a tribute to Michael Jackson.
I'm sure there will be audience interaction on the tour. That's a trademark of the production. No need to worry. (It's not that hard, really...a staircase or two.

Yeah...If they can make Elphaba fly in every single city, I'm sure they'll be able to get the cast's hinies all over that theatre.
that was fun! Saw my friends who trekked up there. Wonder why they wanted everyone to dress up and be "extras"? They were just audience members, with quick camera shots. Couldn't even tell if people were dressed up or anything! LOL. Do they have an "audience" for every summer concert series performance? I don't usually watch GMA.
Also, LOVED Bryce crowd-surfing. HILARIOUS, slash, I would have been a little afraid if I saw him just JUMP at me.
I woke up early just to watch them. That performance, that tribute- it was amazing!
Did anyone else see Gavin wiping away a tear during "I'll Be There"?

I saw Sasha, too. Hell, I almost teared up myself with all of the MJ pictures and the crying fans. And it started raining on top of all that (the sky's crying???). It was a nice tribute.

Bryce crowd surfing made me laugh so hard. Also a lovely MJ tribute, that was really sweet.
Once again showing how classy the cast of Hair is. As has been said: this cast doesnt' just talk the talk...they are involved and live the message of Hair.
Sasha was REALLY emotional, and when Bryce dove into the crowd I gasped!
I could see who was dressed and who wasn't....but I agree...don't get what the big deal was.
The crowd surfing was very funny. You could tell Bryce was loving it! Although, I don't think the crowd was expecting it. He started to sink at first, but they managed to get him back up there. LOL
I agree. The Michael Jackson tribute was very sweet.

Okay, I'm a little confused... I'm at work so I had to DVR the performance. Did the cast do a tribute to MJ on top of their performance, or did the cameras just show them during a video tribute or something? I won't get to watch until like 6:30-ish
got back a little while ago. had so much fun! met a bunch of other people dressed as hippies. i'm also confused about why they asked everyone to dress up. i probably would have regardless lol. alot of the cast memebers were very emotional during the MJ tribute. other than that it was alot of fun!
Leia- Aquarius and Hair/Let the Sun Shine are both on ABC's website already, along with an interview with Gavin/Will that they did (dunno if you can watch vids on your work comp or not!)
Gavin/Sasha/et al sang "I'll Be There". It was beautiful.

Earlier during rehersal, Bryce asked "if I jumped would you guys catch me?"
And right before the cameras started rolling agin, he shouted "Im coming for you guys!"
I guess they werent prepared for how heavy he was.. :)
And after the gma ended they sang I Got Life, which Im guessing they would have aired if they didnt do the MJ tribute. Gavin also took someone Equality Now sign and everyone started chanting peace now, freedom now.
It was such a fun morning, made trekking back to Queens o get my report card worth it
They were amazing!!!
Poor Gavin, battling the elements of the outdoor venue. I was worried about him being able to belt, but it worked out OK. Bryce was hysterical!!! Sasha was superb, I was just tearing up watching her get emotional. Great job by the Tribe!
I just watched this video of Will Swenson giving a backstage tour at Hair. I thought it was pretty funny. Enjoy.

Has anyone found a video of the cast singing "I'll be there"? I was at work and missed it and didn't know if it had turned up anywhere. Thanks!

SO beautiful <33
I was there today and had a lot of fun! I think one of my favorite parts was to actually watch this cast rehearse with Diane. That was a very neat opportunity. The rain felt nice after being stuck in a mob of people in muggy weather especially since I was stuck next to who might just be the most annoying fan girl I've EVER encountered. Oy! This cast is amazing and it was great to see them having fun up there!
