"Does Stephanie do anything more vocally impressive than Sutton/ Tari? Particularly higher notes in Blow, Gabriel, Blow?"
Yes! Blow, Gabriel, Blow was very impressive and so much fun to watch. She owned those high notes with ease.
Saw the show last night and was absolutely blown away!!
First off, Stephanie played the role as you would think Reno would act. Reno, when you first meet her character, seems sweet and spicy and that's how Block portrayed her. Secondly, THAT GIRL CAN SING!!!!! Her vocal ability was outstanding and her belting was show-stopping. And her dancing was very impressive as well! I never knew she could dance so well :) Had and amazing night and wish her the best of luck on her short run!
Saw the Sunday matinee - Joel Grey was back for the first time in 5 weeks.
Have now seen it with Stephanie and Sutton. I love them both! Sutton has more "spunk", but Stephanie definitely has the better voice. Sutton is a better dancer, but Stephanie did great and seemed in perfect sync with everyone else, which amazed me considering what time she had to practice. Stephanie looked like she was having a great time onstage.
Enjoyed the show immensely, was looking forward to it and was in no way disappointed!
Since it's BC/EFA week, was also able to but a poster signed by both Sutton and Stephanie after the show.
Thanks Popular! I just listened to it and she has quite a beautiful voice. I sometimes get accustomed to someone belting that I forget that they might have a range. I'm looking forward to seeing Stephanie on the 22nd.

There's been a lot of Stephanie-bashing on these boards in the past few months. I've always found her to be an exceptional talent, and I'm glad many of you seem to be embracing her performance as Reno.
I hope this makes her the prime candidate to either replace Sutton eventually or headline a tour.

I completely agree, Best12. While Stephanie hasn't been in the best projects lately (though I loved her in MEET VERA STARK), she's an incredible talent. Glad she's able to finally show what she can do.
The Overture is part of the show, people. Please shut your pie hole.
I'm hoping that Stephanie's exceptional performance in VERA STARK, and what seems like an exceptional performance here, will quiet the "SHE CAN'T ACT!" posts once and for all.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
Caught Stephanie yesterday. I haven't seen Sutton, nor do I plan on doing so. I'm not a fan. But Stephanie -- she knocked this one out of the park. Sang her pants off, incredible lyric interpretation and GIRL CAN TAP!
A really marvelous performance -- and they'd be crazy to not replace Sutton with her when the time comes.
As for Joel Grey -- besides his "Be Like the Bluebird" -- I thought he was charming and very funny.
And that Colin Donnel? Swoon. Seriously. SWOON.

She has a phenomenal voice and I'd love to hear what she does with this score. Her "Get Out and Stay Out" was a highlight of 9 to 5. From what I've seen, her acting in certain roles can be slightly mannered and "stagey", but Reno is such a fun role that it might lighten her up a bit and let her have some fun for a change. From recent reports, that seems to be the case!
Just an insert, nothing on the marquee...though i do believe there was an AG poster in the lobby with her name on it, so they may have printed up some promotional materials...
I tried the general rush yesterday at about 12:10 p.m., but all the rush seats were gone. Did anyone rush it successfully recently? What time is best for arrival? Thanks.
The poster in the lobby has Stephanies name on it (on top) - that's about it. Except for the signed posters that have both Stephs and Suttons signatures....
So Joel Grey is back? I guess that means I missed my window to see Robert Creighton as Moonface. I am seeing the show on the 19th and was hoping to see two new leads.
Dean: Can I tell you something?
Lorraine: That depends on what it is.
Dean: I think you're really really pretty.
Lorraine: (after a pause) Ok, you can tell me that.
I'm glad she's been getting great reviews. Also after watching her rehearsal video the other day I am glad that they did not make her a blonde. It wouldn't have matched her skin at all.
"They didn't even change the playbill???"
Her bio is on the show's official website next to Sutton's.

well, Foster is only out for just over 2 weeks, no need to change the playbill. When Lorin Latarro came back to cover Sheila in A Chorus Line for Deidre Goodwin for 2 weeks, only an insert was given. Not exactly the same thing, but hopefully you get my point.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
I get your point, ACL2006. I think it's just that there are many "under the radar" lovers of SJB, myself included, who would like to see her get some legitimate "brownie points" for this fill-in. God I wish I could be there right now!
(cough,cough,video,cough,cough...)

The insert is a "special" insert (doesn't look like the other inserts), giving bio info. I agree, for such a short run I don't think they are changing anything else.
For those of you who have see both SJB and Sutton, is their friendship number similar? I saw Sutton and Gray do their hysterical rendition of this number earlier in the run and rebooked to enjoy it again.
