Hahaha. You’re not kidding. I’m stopping. I’ll just see it when I see it. It’ll be up on YouTube on Sunday after it airs anyway.
You know I love you more than my luggage but damn you have to stop doing that!!!
Rachel just did an IG live and said the strongest thing about this new version is the script Tony Kushner wrote, and her favorite scene was one that he invented for this movie. She couldn't say what it was though. Can't wait to find out how it's been adapted. Maybe the rumble will be an underground boxing ring fight club since Bernado is now a boxer? Lol jk. We'll see!
Judging from the article, it sounds like the trailer will appear during the show and not the pre-show because commercials usually show the TV trailer during a big awards event. So it would make sense that 20th Century Studios would plan it like that.
The trailer will probably drop online sometime before it actually airs live on television. It will surely circulate YouTube and social media in time for the actual premiere of the trailer before/during the Oscars.

Ana Isabelle said there is a NEW scene where Rosalia and Maria talk
I knew Moreno was essentially playing Doc’s widow who will pretty much be the stand in for his part. I’ll be interested if these new roles are of any note.
Interesting that the cast wasn't listed. I wonder if it's because of the Ansel Elgort allegations? Also, based on social media comments, you can tell who doesn't watch musicals haha. People keep saying, "Why are music and lyrics listed twice?"
That's a really cool teaser poster, very Spielberg. Also, I just noticed that Tony Kushner not only wrote the screenplay but he's an executive producer on the film as well.

Everyone involved is Executive Producer, including Rita Moreno.

I’m not really that well informed on what Elgort’s accusations are and where everyone stands on them, but I’m guessing we likely wouldn’t have seen the cast listed anyway.
All but one of the principle actors are only famous in the theatre community. And even then, Alvarez hasn’t done much of note since winning a Tony as a kid, Zegler is only known because of this film, and Faist and especially DeBose aren’t the biggest Broadway names either.
Putting their names on this first poster wouldn’t mean much to general audiences. In fact, Elgort’s name isn’t the biggest draw either even before any controversy. You definitely couldn’t just bill him, and you couldn’t put Moreno and Stoll up there without the actual principles for their relatively small roles.
No need for the large cast to be squeezed on to to this minimalistic poster. And those allegations never went anywhere and have faded from the headlines. Non event.

Love the art."
There hasn't been any press coverage of the allegations because the movie is so far off, but I don't doubt they will crop up again around when the movie's marketing kicks into full gear. Whether or not the ensuing twitter storm will be big enough to make any waves is another question.
The girl quickly deleted the Tweets and her account and along with that so went all the allegations. The whole “scandal” fizzled in 72 hours which is why there was never any Press Release statement from anyone. Ansel acknowledged the relationship. Girl deleted everything. That was it. The only place anyone keeps bringing any of this up is on this message board.
It's pretty easy today to cancel someone for being a sexual predator. But the jury is still out on whether or not someone can be cancelled for being (at least at one documented point) just a sexist creep.
Ansel's situation is much closer to Aziz Ansari (took some time away from the spotlight but is returning rehabilitated) than Armie Hammer or Kevin Spacey.
I’m still hoping the final poster involves a shot of Zegler and Elgort recreating the iconic “rushing down the street” imagery from the Broadway and original film photography.

That's not true. People keep bringing it up on social media (Twitter, Insta, Reddit, etc) whenever the film is discussed. Just read the comments. The accusations were just that, but with the way things are these days, people are quick to cancel a whole project just because of one person's actions. It's just the world we live in.
Anyway, trailer should drop before the second Oscars commercial break from what I hear...

Just like Aziz, Ansel did nothing wrong. Aziz's accuser simply had a bad date and Ansel had a consensual relationship with a 17 year old girl in New York State where the age of consent is 17. The only people bringing up are children on socials who don't know the law. It's a non event and won't impact sales of this movie. Period.
