I've been hoping for that since the beginning!"
I think it won’t work since it’ll give people the wrong impression.

I personally don’t want to see it for that reason, though this show is so famous that most people already know what happens, so that poster wouldn’t really hurt it.

Get ready, guys! It’s coming!!
Oh. That preview. Interest piqued.
Ivo van Hove, THIS is how you do “West Side Story.”
Is it December 10 yet?!
Better than I had hoped. Can't wait.
Sweet Jesus that was beautiful
This is the film I knew we’d get from my favorite director. Amazing.
I like how it's drawn some visual/aesthetic inspiration not from the Broadway or original film versions of the show, but from iconic youth-gang films of the past. I definitely caught accents of "The Outsiders" and "Gangs of New York," but I feel like I even felt just a smattering of "The Warriors" as well in that "shadows converging" shot.

I agree with every word. Fantastic trailer. Looks like they’re doing something different and exhilarating. Can’t wait.

Chills! Nothing but chills! Been waiting for this since March 2014. It was worth the wait.

I got absolute chills
The cinematography looks mind blowing - some of those shots though! Wow! It looks like the rumble is going to be way grittier and bloodier in this version, which will make much more of an impact on the tragedy of it all.
I can't fvcking wait for this to come out.
If WSS was going to be remade I'm glad it was Spielberg and not some second rate hack.
It is in good hands.
The gym scenes look like The Prom.
Not since 2014's Into The Woods has a teaser trailer for a movie musical left me stunned and completely hyped for the holiday season. Steven Spielberg has just made West Side Story proud, not to mention what little we do get from Justin Peck's choreography looks and sounds like every single human being involved with this film is putting their 110%.
After a stunning teaser like that, I think Universal and their film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen should be a little bit worried.
The person on the BWW staff who wrote the article on the new WEST SIDE STORY trailer should be shot and quartered. It's Steven Spielberg not STEPHEN! Like seriously, WTF?!?!?

Honestly I find WSS to be such a chore to sit through and not my favorite, but that trailer got me excited! Loved it!

DEAR GOD let’s pray it’s not as awful and misguided as that ITW film was.
What a stunning teaser, wow. Rita singing Somewhere was the emotional gut punch I wasn’t quite ready for. Also...the shot of the Shark girl banging on the window and crying...does one of Anita’s friends witness her assault?

These are my sentiments, exactly. I admire individual elements of the original, but it has always felt like a very long two and a half hours. The trailer for this new version feels more fresh and exciting to me.

That was Graziella (Riff's girlfriend)

I'd forgotten Mike Faist was going to be in this and now I'm suddenly interested in his performance. It's a great trailer. I am slightly worried about them deemphasizing the musical and the romance/the two leads but maybe they're just trying to appeal to a different audience with the first trailer.

I love the scene of Anita during the America number
