Okay, here's the deal. I'm coming to New York City with a school choir. We're supposed to go see Sweeny Todd and some other Broadway Show. Tell me, is it really worth the ticket price? Should I go see the show, or go find a good Starbucks, order myself an iced vanilla latte, sit outside, greet people passing by, and soak up the New York City Culture? Also, if anybody could tell me where I could find a good deal for hotels, I would deeply appreciate it. Thanks- Mister Cellophane
You can get an iced vanilla latte any time. See Sweeney Todd! When else are you going to get that opportunity? Whether you love it or hate it (most likely love it, I did!) it'll still be a true NYC Broadway experience.

Will you have a scone with your coffee?
Yes, yes, yes, it's worth the ticket price.
But shouldn't your school choir be taking care of the hotels for you?
You'd rather skip out on an amazing night of theatre for sipping coffee?
Is this trip to NY going to be anytime soon? If so, sitting outside drinking a latte is going to be a pretty chilly event. See the show and have a latte afterwards.
If you have to ask if you should see a Broadway show or sip coffee then maybe you should just sip coffee since it seems as if a Broadway show might be wasted on you. Either that or you are just being a smart ass.
Coffee vs. the worse pies in London, go for the pies! I would gladly give up coffee any day of the week for some of Mrs. Lovett's pies
New York City culture and lattes are just fine and dandy, but they can't compare with Patti LuPone shaking her rump whilst playing the tuba.

"Patti LuPone shaking her rump"
among other things.
Thanks for the feedback. Sorry if I pissed you off pab. Basically I'm just trying to get some info on which shows to see while we're there. I've heard some bad reviews of Sweeny Todd, that's all. CaTheatreGirl, thanks for your concern about the cold. I actually like the cold so I don't think that would be a factor. I would always rather go see a broadway show rather than sip a cup of coffee. I just would like to go see a good broadway show. Kringas, I do like scones with me lattes. Calvin, the choir director is taking care of the hotels, but we're supposed to do some research. Thanks again!!!

werd .... Sweeny todd definetly is a great show, and its unique nature definetly makes it worth while.
Just dont sit tooo far front or michael will spit on you :)
Go see Sweeney Todd. You can absorb the culture before and after the show.
Hotel QT is a good bargain considering how close you are to the theatre district and Times Square. Better rates at www.quikbook.com and www.express-res.com than at the hotel's website www.hotelqt.com.
I stayed there in October and am staying there in May 2006. NYC is very expensive but this hotel is a good deal.
Howard Stern was talking about seeing the show this morning and said it was a great production or something to that effect.
Have a look at the "Video Previews" section of this website, and see for yourself.
It's only a tidbit, but I personally adore that tidbit!
I would kill to be able to see this, don't give up the oppurtunity!
you must see Sweeney Todd......

i actually don't think you shouldn't watch the videos. The videos don't flatter the show at all. if you do happen to watch the videos, imagine seeing the show like that ony 35 times better.
JUST SEE SWEENEY! i guarantee you'll love it, you should consider yourself lucky. I'm too poor to go see it again.

Sweeney's totally worth it. I saw it Oct. 14th. I'm going to see it twice more in June. See it!!
A must see. Lauren Molina is the best Joanna I have seen. She is quirky and fun.
35 times better?!?!?!?!?!

This production is one of the ONLY shows I have ever paid full price for. I'm fortunate to get lots of comps & deals. Even so, I'd pay full price to go back & see it a second time. IT is nothing short of transcendent.
