Is anyone a little bit peeved that this thread was started by that SillyPhilly? Who's having the last laugh on us all ?
I love reading everyones' thoughts here but can't believe that I have seen the original movie several times, the Wiz in Australia[not successful and the theatre painted the footpath outside Yellow but the local council made them remove it]and I never gave one thought to anything deeper than the pleasure I got each time.
I must be so shallow,or dumb to not read anything into what was before me-no message-just a beautifully constructed family fairy story---Thanks Judy.x
Well, Stephen Sondheim often cites the original production as a major favorite precisely because every element was entirely dedicated to entertaining and delighting the audience. I think that it is a meaningful show, but in many ways that is because of its concept and its context.

Just because I used an exclamation point and used all caps does not mean that I was upset, unpleasant or being defensive lol I was actually laughing at Brandy's ridiculous statement and enthusiastically agreeing with RW3's statement.
Rule of thumb when reading post online theatre_nerd, never read to deep into what people write and put your personal feeling aside. You will never know how people feel or what is going through their minds when they post comments so don't try to figure it out I am sure you know this, but just a reminder
Okay. Thanks so much for taking the time and clarifying that for me!

Like honestly was it just to get people to like you or something? Childish.

I'm not sure uncageg. That is a good question. I know for a fact that the "Making of" special is available On Demand (and online), I just watched it via On Demand last night as I was out of the country when it aired. The only reason I can see them not offering it On Demand immediately after it airs is because they may repeat it at least one more time before the December 22nd release of the DVD.
I actually stumbled on The Making Of just poking around looking at stuff. Just got the Xfinity X1 platform and was clicking through all of the options when I found it. I am having it dvr'd to watch next week when I am away so will see it then if not via On Demand. I may get to catch a few minutes of the beginning tonight. I would like to see it before this thread goes to 150 pages! Lol
I don't blame her for being misinformed about Dorothy's age because ask somebody who doesn't know theatre how they felt when Rapunzel died in "Into the Woods" and they'd get confused because the movie is what they'll know. She didn't even say she thought she had a chance doing it for NBC. And really, if you watch further, she doesn't even think she can do it believably on Broadway. Which really makes Wendy and all of Brandy's fans a little more ridiculous than her, no?

I watched Peter Pan Live on-demand the following day on HULU, and they carried it for several days. I believe it was also available on the NBC app for those of us who have a Roku (or probably Apple TV, etc.).

Thanks besty. I don't have hulu and the NBC app won't run on my tablet. I will actually be about 20 feet from a tv tonight but won't be able to watch it!

They're releasing it on DVD very soon. That would be another option.

All preliminary creative grievances aside, I am really pulling for the cast tonight. I hope they have a great show, and I hope it all comes together.
And hey, if it works (even with these crazy changes), then it works. We shall see. And I'm sure I won't be silent ... either way. I'll be the first to say I love it if I do.

About two hours left! I for one will be posting a review when I am done watching, which may be on the weekend. Dvr! Does anyone think that grosses will go down tonight?
I appoligise for any spelling mistakes. I may be on my mobile. Clumsy fingers and small little touchscreen keys don't mixx. I try to spellcheck, but I may miss something.

I look forward to seeing what you think when all is said and done.
There hasn't been whining and complaining. There has been discussion based upon promotional material that is used to interest (or disinterest) viewers based upon that promotional material. Taking a stance on creative choices opposite to yours is not whining, nor is it complaining, especially considering most offering negative criticism backed it up with reasons why they were not liking what they saw.
That is how criticism works, and if weren't for your childish posts, it would have been a lively and exciting debate on their creative process as they revealed it over the last couple months.
Just because people disagree with you does not mean they are whining. Just because people voice a negative opinion does not mean they are complaining. Surely you are old enough and mature enough to understand that. A rebuttal will not be necessary as I have joined the legions who have grown tired of what you have to say.
