What have the audiences committed to?"
Thanks for your snark regarding my and many others’ place of employment. So nice to see someone showing care for people losing work after the last two years.

Please PM or email (preferably). Thanks!"
If you bought them through ticketmaster you can just return them.

That's not how it works. Producers don't tell landlords, landlords tell producers.
Also, producers don't share their plans with "supervisors" of ushers.
As an aside, no one wants to see anyone lose their job, but no one wants to see anyone bleed money either. In fact, people who bleed money generally don't produce shows again anytime soon. If one less successful show is produced as a result, how many people does that keep from a paycheck?

My God, the condescending arrogance. First of all, yes they are our supervisors. Or managers. Whichever you’d like to call them, but there’s no need for the quotations.
Secondly we are employed by the landlord, not the producers. And our landlord has been clear with staff that we should expect to be open through the fall. Yes, things can change, but they’ve said this to us for weeks on end and continue to reiterate it.
Thirdly, we have a supervisor for each theatre, but also a supervisor who covers our entire ushering team across all Nederlander theatres and she is in constant communication with Nederlander.
So please spare me your condescending BS.

No condescension. Neither a producer nor a landlord shares confidential information about unannounced plans with a supervisor of ushers. Or anyone else in the theatre. Even the Nederlander staff that deals with said supervisor would have no information on that. (And of course, the public-facing story is ALWAYS that every show will run until eternity. Can you imagine the alternative? I can't.) As I said, that's not the way it works. And as I am sure you realize, your pay, from a Nederlander bank account, is a full passthrough from the producer. The key to everything you have said is wrapped up in 3 words toward the end of your middle item.
We all appreciate ushers, but let's try to keep things in perspective.
I started a new job last last year at a publicly funded community college. The more managers tell us that everything is fine, and there's no need to listen to rumors about changes being made, the more certain everyone is that somebody above us is about to lose their job. I've only been there 6 months, and it has happened a few times already.

I'm kind of impressed with the strategy it employed for a while of "no discount tickets" (which later became "no discounts except TKTS". Its grosses have been higher than any of us expected. Don't know what it's been spending on ads each week, but there was method to the madness.

Doubt it. Probably returned some money to its investors and might become profitable on the road and internationally, but it will have only played the equivalent of 60 weeks.
