Yes, and they're hoping to bring as much as this cast as possible to New York.

Someone will have to change the lyrics to "Six Months Out of Every Year."
I can't remember if there are other Washington Senators lyrics.

Rob McClure is having a very busy summer. First Guys & Dolls in Ogunquit, then DEH at The MUNY, and now this. I'm happy for him.

Didn’t realize this is being done in the round. I’m not optimistic about this one but haven’t seen it in a while so looking forward to seeing a new production. The 90s revival was a hoot.

That's an incredible cast. Is this still eyeing a Broadway transfer for the Spring?"
you really think Incredible? Far from it and what happened as a star was attached? this needs a star if it comes to broadway. this cast is suitable for Arena stage nothing special about it!

It’s a great regional theatre cast.
This will have a tough, possibly impossible, road to Broadway.
- Its director is coming off a big financial flop.
- Its lead producers are novices and having no star will hurt their ability to raise money.
- A prior revival tried to get off the ground for 15 years — with three different directors — and couldn’t. And the roles aren’t THAT good that stars are immediately drawn to them.
- Sunset Blvd didn’t recoup and Gypsy was a financial disaster. That should scare stars and their agents, too.
- The show is being so dramatically reframed that the consensus very well might be “why not just write a new show.” Meaning the producers would have to start over with a new concept after the Arena run.
Damn Yankees is in the pantheon of good shows, but I don’t know if it has ever been an *amazing* show.

Bull Durham has a better chance of getting to Broadway this spring than Damn Yankees, I can tell you that

They are definitely aiming for Broadway if their Instagram name is anything to go by.
Haley Swindal may be a novice but she’ll have no trouble raising the money.

Bull Durham has a bunch of unknowns in the cast. not even one Bway name. Papermill shows almost always flop on Bway.

Absolute nonsense. Newsies? The Great Gatsby? The two Jeremy Jordan paper mill shows did well on Broadway. People were blown away by Bull Durham in their last tryout at Duke University in North Carolina which had the same leads. Direction by Marc Bruni and choreo by Josh Bergasse. They’re looking to fast track to Broadway in the spring and Best Musical will be down between the two paper mill shows Wanted and Bull Durham, both truly first rate musicals.

there's literally one new musical announced for this season (Queen of Versailles). there's no frontrunner for New Musical at this point.

It's very clear who Crusty Bagel used to be. A new member suddenly posting in every thread and being as annoying as BroadwayFlash. This guy keeps trying to recreate his profile but then continues to be an extremely obnoxious poster, just with a different username.

When you have someone who is obviously trolling for a response, please start blocking them rather than engaging with them. If you continue to engage, you are no better than they are.

I think the bigger question is why do you always create a new username and profile all the time? Everyone ends up blocking you so you feel the need to create a new account to try to engage with everyone just to immediately get called out for the same things over and over.

Simply because someone is born into the Steinbrenner family doesn’t mean that the [estimated] 7-12 mil she has to raise for this will be easy. She’s been a low level co-producer on five shows (with other people joining her for her raise); four have flopped, and only Hell’s Kitchen is on track to recoup.
The successfully wealthy remain that way because they can smell what will and won’t make money.
But who knows, maybe the production will defy all odds.

To this day, still one of my favorite theater experiences. The revival with Bebe, Victor and Co. An old-fashioned musical indeed but still a great show. The overture leading up to the opening number, “Six Months…” just great. Bought my parents tix for the tour out here in CA and saw them at a family event the next day. Both loved it. My dad didn’t frequent the theater all that much but he had certain show songs and shows he liked, especially WSS and Man of La Mancha. He said he really liked DY.
